Isn't it kind of hard to claim a cover-up when Comey has already told Trump that he wasn't under investigation? The left is claiming that Trump fired Comey to attempt to stop an investigation into Trump but how can that be if Trump was never under investigation or wasn't going to be be investigated by Comey? How can you fire someone for the reasons of blocking an investigation when there was never ever an investigation by that person in the first place? I believe that Comey has actually said that trump was not under investigation and trump believed him. Whether or not Comey was telling him the truth on the matter is irrelevant because Trump believed him so he made decisions based on what he believed. Trump goes out an fires him when he believed he wasn't under investigation so the motives for firing him must be something different than to block an investigation since Trump believed he wasn't under investigation in the first place.
