We've been on the road to hell for something over 100 years now. As the people have allowed their freedoms to be infringed, chip by chip, piece by piece, and then chunk by chunk, we have allowed the government to become bigger, more intrusive, more authoritarian, more expensive, and more imperial. As people gave up their freedoms for dependency, more and more of them encouraged that. The Founder's vision of a government that secured the rights of the people and then left them alone to govern themselves has become ever more cloudy.

And we now have people at the helm who want to make that once bumpy, crooked, and occasionally impassable road to hell a super highway without speed limits or controls of any kind. And unless we wake up, I believe they absolutely are going to get us there more quickly than any of us once imagined.

Oh and for me, it took about 40 years to fully wake up. I think we're going to have to figuratively blow up some bridges to stop the express.

There were many issues that were on the table with that threatened union action. Many were safety concerns. That was a legitimate confrontation that could have been worked out. I have been a pilot since 1976. I may know a little bit more about it than you. But I am sure you believe you are the most expert o experts on all knowledge. I doubt you were piloting any aircraft in the time frame we are discussing. That won't stop you from trying to convince everyone you are the last word will it?

Some of you forgetting the point that federal employees doing a job like air traffic are not the same as joe auto worker...

If an air traffic controller screws up or isn't there planes can crash and people can die.. if a auto worker screws up or isn't there a car isn't made.. thats it.... Not the same thing at all and not held by the same rules or regulations accordingly..

I was a regular Federal employee for 19 years and now I'm a contractor doing the same job.. If i decide i want more money or have a grievance i do not have the option to go on strike legally. If I do so anyway I am effectively saying that my personal needs or problems must forgo those of the government and country.. Not our problems as a country or whole of society but my own or others similar to me... That cannot happen for a functional government and moreover cannot happen in a situation where lives are in danger...

This was not about unions it was about power over the government by the unions and they lost...
