There will almost certainly be civil lawsuits by state pensioners living out of state, a bipartisan criminal commission and special prosecutors appointed to investigate corruption when the deductability of SALT (State And Local Taxes) starts to bite.

The Question is how many D politicians will go to state, local and federal jails?

If they make it retroactive to Jan 1st blue states are in big trouble, losing the SALT deduction would mean they have been paying far too little in federal taxes this year and will have to cough up a check to the government when they file.

I'll go out on a limb here and say "All of them."

You actually believe, that the SALT deductions will magically disappear for Year 2017 tax filers? Would care to make a bet?
Secondly, the SALT deduction lost will effect all states, not just the Blue States.

That would be both unwise and ex post facto. People and jobs moving out of the Blue states, bankruptcy of states and a complete audit by a federal bankruptcy court will be more than sufficient.

And possibly they have underpaid so there is the penalty for that and then they get into the quarterly payment thing.

Ouch!!!!

Which states would be the most affected?

True but with low or no state and local income taxes and an increased deductible in the majority of blue states as well as virtually all red states means a maximum of 15 affected states and five or fewer so corrupt that perp walks by politicians become nearly universal.

Which states would be the most affected?

Obviously Blue States. But still, the elimination of SALT will effect all taxpayers, in high and low state tax states.
And your point is?
It doesn't take a genius, to see the elimination of the SALT, is a partisan punishment. Also, most of the states that have higher SALT, are states that pay in more than they get back from the Federal government. While the states that get more back than they pay in, aren't punished.
I guess you Trumpsters want the country's most livable states, to end up being like Mississippi, which has the worse livable standards in the country.

And all of this on the backs of the middle class... for the purpose of giving corporations and the 1% a huge tax cut that they don't even need

our country has lost it's moral compass

My point is that not all states will be effected equally.

This effectively is a tax on political corruption. Strange as it may seem NY and LA aren't the most corrupt states in the nation and their politicians may only face wage and pension garnishment with no felony record.

Actually, it seems that Clinton is everywhere. I wish she's just retire, her
inability to deal with reality is sad. She lost, because she wasn't a good candidate, who had too many skeletons in her closet.
That said, I didn't vote for Clinton, but then I didn't vote for Trump either. Based on his proven unequaled narcissism, immature temperament, his mental health issues and his living in the world of delusion, my not voting for him, is vindicated.

And RW dummies don't even realize how many Republican congressmen are from BLUE STATES.

No, it's clearly partisan punishment. I thought crap like that only happens, in banana republics.
I guess that is a clear indications of America's direction. SAD!

I know that is already an issue in Minnesota. Ads are already running about how they turned their backs on not only their district, but also all of Minnesota. Two of them barely won in 2016. And the third, is also in hot water, according to a poll.
