1. Modern medicine as we know it started with Penicillin, but it would never be understood how it works until 1928 in Scotland (not the USA), isolated its antibacterial properties.
Its first use would be in 1930 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.

2. Until Darwin's theory of evolution, Archaeology which is the social science of developing a story from silent witnesses to the era before men in Europe truly spoke in a unified, codified manner and wrote as we do..
Was stuck with the task of discerning Paleontology as they were finding more and more and more such fossils.
Charles Darwin in 1859 developed the theory of evolution.
However the USA had no such social system in place to accept the theory.
Because the USA was steeped in religion.
And that is something we even today, have yet to truly shatter.

It wouldn't be until the 1980s when it began replacing religion in the USA, in the masses.

The USA's population wouldn't accept the theory of Evolution, until the Chixulub crater was found, proving that a meteor wiped out the dinosaurs.

It has only been the people that work with science in the USA that accept science, because the USA is a country of retarded asssholes who hate change.

3. While the Philadelphia Zoo is America's first zoo, it was simply nothing but a Jail for Animals.

It was none other than Sea World, and Busch Gardens that really got the American masses at all knowledgeable whatsoever about Life on earth.

And Sea World and Busch Gardens is a product of the 1960s, which is by far the most important period of change in American history.
And 2nd most radical after the Industrial Revolution.

Without the 1960s, it would be socially and politically, like never having the Meteor that wiped out the Dinosaurs.

And the social pioneers towards our social and political and educational advancement toward being where we are today, were not the Victorian, or the Greatest Generation, but rather the Silent generation and the Baby Boomers, both are still alive, some still thriving.
And then Generation X to carry on the work.

4. The Cold War was our war against communism, but it wouldn't be until the 1980s when America began having truly superior technology than its own western allies.
:)

That's how recent modernity really is in America.

My complaint is, that the boomers now have a dynasty going, that keeps the next generation from getting ours.

So why do repukes think the past was so great ?

We get it - you hate America. We all understand. So do we. Deeply.

Now that you know we all agree will you go away?
