If you're gay, get ready, the GOP and Trump's cabinet are coming after you. Believe it!

So now Trump is coming after gays? You libs have lost it, seek help for your TOCD.

It's ridiculous. Trump is literally the most pro gay rights president ever elected. Even Obama ran against gay marriage to get himself elected.

Absolutely assinine
Pence is the most hate gays vice president that I've ever been aware of.

First, work on your grammar. It's atrocious.

Second, there is zero evidence that mike pence hates anyone, let alone gays

Third, pence's viewpoints have nothing to do with what trump will do. Hence irrelevant.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Donald Trump’s running mate, attracted national attention last year when he signed a religious freedom law that members of the LGBT community said could worsen discrimination against them.

After criticism from the business community, Pence signed an amendment to the law intended to protect gays and lesbians.

But it was not his first brush with criticism from the LGBT community. A self-described “Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order,” the former member of Congress was a prominent conservative figure in battles over marriage equality and equal rights in the last decade.

Here are some of the statements and positions Pence had has related to LGBT issues:

He said gay couples signaled ‘societal collapse’

In 2006, as head of the Republican Study Committee, a group of the 100 most-conservative House members, Pence rose in support of a constitutional amendment that would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman. Citing a Harvard researcher, Pence said in his speech, “societal collapse was always brought about following an advent of the deterioration of marriage and family.” Pence also called being gay a choice and said keeping gays from marrying was not discrimination, but an enforcement of “God’s idea.”

He opposed a law that would prohibit discrimination against LGBT people in the workplace

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act would have banned discrimination against people based on sexual orientation. Pence voted against that law in 2007 and later said the law “wages war on freedom and religion in the workplace.

More than 20 years after the bill was first introduced, the Senate approved the proposal in 2013, but the bill failed in the House.

He opposed the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

Pence favored the longtime military policy of not letting soldiers openly identify as gay. In 2010, Pence told CNN he did not want to see the military become “a backdrop for social experimentation.” The policy ended in 2011.

He rejected the Obama administration directive on transgender bathrooms

In May, the federal government directed school districts to allow students to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. The directive came as criticism crescendoed around a North Carolina law that would have restricted the use of bathrooms.

Along with many other conservatives, Pence opposed Obama’s directive and said it was a state issue. “The federal government has not business getting involved in issues of this nature,” Pence said.

Here's What Mike Pence Said on LGBT Issues Over the Years

Start off with Betsy DeVos:

Donald Trump’s education secretary could be justifiably quashed by the U.S. Senate. Her long public record indicates she is a religious Christian zealot who does not believe in the actual separation of church and state, wants public monies funneled into religious schools, and has contributed through family foundations to bigoted groups with a militant anti-gay agenda. During her confirmation hearing she gave disturbing answers to questions about her views of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, standardized tests, and school vouchers. She also suggested guns have a place in American schools, though her claim that they were necessary to defend students from grizzly bear attacks was not very compelling.

Watching her testimony was both hilarious and frightening. That the right wing could agree with her on guns in schools was just bizarre. She believes in conversion therapy and home school.

The bitch firmly believes in "Conversion Therapy". For anyone who doesn't know what that is, the concept was central to the film "A Clockwork Orange".

Trump Education Nominee Betsy DeVos Lied to the Senate

And of course, we know what Pence position is. In his state, he diverted money to help AIDS patients to invest in conversion therapy..

And they do all this evil going against our very constitution in the name of Christianity. Jesus would have a fit.

These are some nasty, dirty Christian Taliban. America had to take Trump's threat seriously. Right wingers are some dangerous people. Lucky his favorability rating is in the 30's. America may finally be getting it.

Really? and people are going to be forced into conversion therapy?

If Republicans have their way.

I think it's absolutely absurd that rdean or anyone else is trying to claim that trump is coming after gays when they can't name a single policy of his that does so.

And gays are supposed to be grateful to democrats for gay marriage? We just had two terms of a man who ran opposing gay marriage and then conveniently flipped when it was politically expedient. And he didn't even do anything to give you gay marriage. A rogue court with a majority of Republican appointments on it did.

Course that didn't stop Obama from taking credit for it. Nor did it stop you from nominating Hillary who likewise opposed gay marriage
Why are you blathering about Obama and who gays should be "grateful to" First of all, David Axelrod, in his book on Obama said that Obama never was really opposed to marriage equality and in fact wanted to come out in favor much sooner. However, his advisors begged him not to, knowing that in 2008 it would have been political suicide.

Second of all, he later set the tone in the national discourse about gay rights and marriage. The courts are sensitive to that tone- to public opinion. Gays owe their victory to many people, including straight people who can't stomach discrimination. They owe it to the hundreds of business leaders, clergy, and even Republicans who supported them.

"When Donald Trump took the oath of office today, he vowed to be a servant for all Americans. We will hold him to that oath,” said Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin. “It is more important now than ever before for us to organize, mobilize, and fight in solidarity against hate and any attempts to roll back the rights of LGBTQ people.

No matter who sits in the Oval Office, HRC won't back down an inch in the fight for full equality and the equal dignity of each and every American. Forward." HRC Statement on Inauguration of President Donald Trump | Human Rights Campaign

Trump Appoints Lawyer Who Defended HB2 to Civil Rights Position | Human Rights Campaign

President Donald Trump has selected John Gore for a key role in the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. Gore is the lawyer who defended the University of North Carolina in a suit challenging the school’s enforcement of the discriminatory HB2.

President Trump just appointed someone who defended one of the most discriminatory laws in the land to a key role in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. This is shameful,” said HRC Legal Director Sarah Warbelow. If these reports are true, anybody who cares about civil rights should be gravely concerned. Among other things, HB2 places transgender North Carolinians in harm's way and bans cities from passing non-discrimination protections, which has cost the state more than $600 million. President Trump appears to be assembling an anti-LGBTQ team to lead the very agency charged with ensuring every American is protected from discrimination.” Trump Appoints Lawyer Who Defended HB2 to Civil Rights Position | Human Rights Campaign

Gays are out and about, and nothing can but them in the closet again.
The right wings positions on gays isn't to drive them back into to the closet. It's always been to destroy their lives.
Too many gays voted Republican for me to feel sorry for what happens to them. We give them marriage and they vote GOP?

Same way poor people didn't vote in 2010 after we got them the aca.

Republicans will let gays be married but that doesn't mean they can adopt or share healthcare.

Maybe Americans like these people will wake up and stop voting gop

This post epitomizes the disconnect the left has from reality.

You didn't give gays the right to marry. The allegedly rw court did. Contrary to the will of the people.

As for Obamacare, you lost because no one wanted it. You can't figure out why the poor were pissed at you for raising their insurance premiums and deductibles? Really? It's really so puzzling why people are upset with you for making their coverage worse while making them pay more?

Yeah screw those gays and poor people for not appreciating the wonderful things you do. It's precisely this elitist bs that lead to trumps victory
No. The poor are shifting now they're going to lose their Obamacare.

And gays will see when Republicans assault their equality. I heard how Republicans won't outlaw gay marriage but that doesn't mean employers have to cover a guys husband. Watch.

What do I care I'm not gay or poor.
The poor aren't losing anything. They always had medicaid or similar state beneflits.

Tom Price's views on religious freedom make him the wrong choice to run the Department of Health and Human Services The Price Is Wrong: HHS Secretary Nominee’s Views On Religious Freedom Are Dangerous | Americans United

We’re particularly looking for answers about Price’s record on religious freedom. As enshrined in the Constitution, religious freedom guarantees we are free to believe as we see fit and to practice our faith – but it doesn’t allow us to ignore laws that protect others or to take away their rights even if we’re motivated by religious beliefs. Price, however, has pushed to allow religion to be used as an excuse to discriminate and deny health care. His record not only reflects a basic misunderstanding of religious freedom, but also a flagrant disregard for HHS’s mission to “enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans.”

His record on LGBTQ issues is equally bad. Price co-sponsored the deceptively named First Amendment Defense Act. This discriminatory bill would essentially allow individuals, government employees, businesses and taxpayer-funded social service providers to cite religion as an excuse to ignore all laws that recognize and protect same-sex couples. He also joined a friend-of-the-court brief to the Supreme Court in the Gavin Grimm case that suggests that religion could be used to deny transgender students access to the bathroom.

Yea, Christians.

These aren't traditional Christians. Traditional Christians are known for helping the poor. Helping the sick. Worshiping Jesus and not money. Marrying only once. Being honest.

None of that sounds anything like today's Republicans. Does that sound like Trump?
