I think that traditional liberals and traditional conservatives just aren't, um, politically aggressive. A majority of the country believes in "live and let live", and we just aren't into screaming at people and attacking them and telling them how to live their lives.

So, the ends of the spectrum are by far the loudest. But that doesn't mean the rest of us don't have an opinion.
