IRS: Was Obama set up?

The IRS began targeting conservative groups a couple of years ago. The Commissioner at the time was Douglas Shulman, a Bush appointee who conveniently resigned about 6 months ago.

The woman who runs the Exempt Organizations Division is Lois Lerner. She's already been caught lying to investigators about when she knew what. She was appointed to the position in 2005 by Mark W. Everson, another Bush appointee.

The Acting Commission of the IRS since Shulman resigned is Steven T. Miller, a career bureaucrat who was Deputy Commissioner under Shulman. He was the Director of Exempt Organizations before Lerner.

In other words, all the key players in this scandal at the IRS worked in the very department which is the center of the controversy and all but one were Republican appointees. Each should have known what was going on.

The story was first broken by Jay Sekulow, a far-right wing lawyer once connected with Pat Robertson's CBN who now runs the right wing American Center for Law and Justice. He's a frequent commentator on FOX and other conservative outlets. Robertson, you may recall, was one of the founding fathers of the Republican dominated Evangelical movement.

Conspiracy theory: Did the Republican appointees direct lower level employees to target right wing organizations on purpose, just to generate a "gotcha" moment for Barack Obama? Were those right wing organizations tipped to show Sekulow what the IRS was demanding of them? Is it coincidence that Shulman resigned just as Sekulow began to make noise about it? Has Miller been set up to take the fall?

Y'all like conspiracy theories. How about this one?

I've always believed there is literally no difference between a Bush Republican and a Clinton Democrat. Both factions are in the pockets of global corporations and can be described as Neo-Conservative.

I've also believed that one of the tradeoff's for Hillary's support after the primaries in 2008 was that Obama had to appoint her as SecState and take a bunch of her minions into his inner circle. I've also suspected they were stalking horses whose mission has been to torpedo Obama every chance they got. A good many of those embarrassing events early in his administration were the results of actions taken by Clintonites or advice taken from them. For instance, the bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia incident. A Clintonite was the White House head of protocol and knew better, but told the neophyte President he should do it. Another incident which comes to mind was the disturbing flyover of AF 1 over NYC on the anniversary of 9/11. Again, a Clintonista ordered it.

Eventually, it seems that Obama wised up and pushed the Clintonites out of his inner circle of advisors, but they remain in various places throughout the government where they can create trouble if they're told to.

What you just linked to is another possibility.

The bottom line is to never assume the Republican's and the Clinton's aren't working in unison against Obama.

Shouldn't this thread be under "Whacked Out Conspiracy Theories"? Man, you libs will do anything to defend this criminal, won't you?

It sounds good except for one thing.

I don't know of a single Republican smart enough to set up such a extensive plan and execute it without it having been leaked years ago.

Not to mention that Bush would have to have known that Obama (who was unknown in 2005) would be the next president. Boy, for an idiot, Bush was not only brilliant, he could tell the future.

Bush was able to do it throughout his two terms. Oh wait, CON$ claim Bush was not a Republican or president. :eusa_whistle:

The Bush Administration instructed the IRS to apply extra scrutiny to tax deductions taken by people contributing cash and/or real estate to environmental organizations. Behind the selective enforcement lurked the threats of penalties for the donors and loss of tax exempt status for the organizations if anything improper was detected.

Bush had the IRS audit Advocates for Youth, NAACP, All Saints Episcopal Church of Pasadena, CA, Greenpeace, etc.

You have it wrong.

Conservatives, like me, will tell you that while President G. W. Bush was a Republican, he wasn't a solid Conservative.

There is a difference and you really ought to learn it if you are wanting to be taken seriously on a political board.

Let's see some proof.

Every time CON$ fail miserably they are disowned. When Bush ran he ran as a CON$ervative. After he was elected he was compared to Reagan and Churchill. Now that it is acknowledged that he was such a complete failure he has been compared to a Liberal Democrat.

Pretending that the GOP is not CON$ervative is just an admission of what a complete failure CON$ervatism has been.
Thank you.

You just proved how wrong Shroom was as it was obviously not leaked or a know-it-all like yourself would have heard of it!

In other words, you are too lazy to do anything for yourself, including think. That is why you are a CON$ervative, you swallow everything they feed you without ever checking it for yourself, and they are more than willing to feed you bullshit knowing you prefer to be ignorant.
