Isn't there some way to read poll results?

I'm sure it's in there, I've seen it pop up but I have no idea how to make it pop up-- the list of who voted for each choice... rather than a simple bar graph saying X number voted this, Y number voted that.

Annoying to know it's there and be unable to access.

TIA.

I think just if its a public poll
and then, I think you can only see it if you voted..

whoever sets up the poll has to set that option. If they chose it as a simple poll then you can't see who voted and for what. They need to choose "make votes public"

OK thanks but --- how can we tell the difference between a poll set up as public and therefore doesn't show details... and one that is supposed to show details but doesn't?

Because I know I've seen it behave intermittently and I never figured out how I got the details to show up, and then couldn't repeat it...

As CK said..... what you see is how it was set to begin with....

Are you asking so you know which poll you vote are its a "secret ballot"? Some OP's will say up front if it is a public or private poll. If you are unsure, pm the OP and ask.

example of a public poll

if you have NOT voted yet..... under the poll look for view results.... it will show you who has voted for what. If you have already voted.... put your cursor over the number in each choice and it will show you who has voted.

example of a non public poll.

you cant put your cursor over a choice number and have who voted or it show up...

is that what you were looking for as an answer?

is that what you were looking for as an answer?

So if the results are available there will be a "view poll results" button, and if they're not, there won't be?

If that's it then yes that's exactly what I'm asking.
Are those the only two ways to post a poll?

Seems to me I've seen results come and go without any discernible pattern... :dunno:

But this answer seems to cover it. :)

Edit-- wait, no not quite.... I think the cursor thing is what doesn't work. I don't get anything holding my cursor over any bar, either one. Seems like I have got it in the past. I think that's the intermittent part.

before you vote...there is always a view poll button......

clicking on the number will show who has voted for what..... if it is private you cant pull that up.

those are the only two ways to post polls..... private or public. Why not make some silly polls and give them a test drive and check them out for yourself? Make one private and one public. :eusa_angel:

I don't feel comfortable posting a poll before I understand how to read one :(

I still don't get the cursor thing over the bar, on any poll. And yet I have seen it in the past. Myserious.

oh come on... be brave!!! You can do it!!!!

book or movie...vote now!

turkey and all the trimmings or what ever floats your boat

read the instructions.... or put it together and figure it out as you go!

not a bar..... over the number of people who have voted.

go to the links i gave you.....

put your cursor over the big bold black number of how many people voted in the choice...... getting a little finger point means it is a link..... click on it. The number is the same as a hyperlink in a public poll.

if you dont get the little finger pointer..... there is no link... and it is a private poll.

Already did that and tried again -- I hovered over all the bars and nothing ever shows up.

Is it a Chrome thing?

Make one and the mystery will be gone.

Well, no it won't. The mystery is in the reading, not the creation.

creating them will help YOU understand them better.... and that is what you wanted isnt it?

trust me.... make a few and get the feel for them....

okay...
Yanno, when I burn a CD I test it in another computer just to make sure it's universal - that's kinda my thinking that creating my own poll won't tell me what I'm looking for..

Hey Pogo, maybe this will help.

Example 1 is a public poll, as noted at the top of the poll. When you click on "view poll results" at the right bottom corner, you get the list of everyone who voted.

Example 2 is a non-public poll. Clicking on "view poll results" only gets you the vote totals.

Thanks Rat. Yah I know what they look like but I'm not getting anything showing up when I hover on the bar. I have seen it in the past but not lately.

I put a poll up and never got a choice whether to make it public or private.

There isn't an RTFM somewhere?
