For a former US Attorney Cruz doesn't realize that it's congresses job to count the EC votes, not to manufacture them. They can only consider (including throwing out) the votes that are in front of them. And it's too late for new electors to vote, as those votes had to be cast on December 14th in order to be considered.

Trump lost. A fact. And not a hard fact to understand why. His approval numbers never, in four years, rose above 45%

We hold elections. That means someone wins, someone loses. Remember four years ago? Trump lost the popular vote then too. He won the electoral college vote by a handful of states where his combined popular vote margin amounted to just under the seating capacity of Ohio Stadium. There was no mandate, no landslide.

Every four years we elect a president and every four years we survive. Sometimes worse for our selection, but more often better for it.

Elections are fair and free. We must remember that. Trump questioned the legitimacy of an election he actually won. And he's been spreading doubt in this election since last summer. Someone as self involved as he is has no regard for the institution of democracy.

And the hex of false confidence in his abilities has too many poor dumb gullible people believing in his grievences to the point they will give up on the American tradition and fact of legitimate elections. His divisiveness has poisoned the well. And the nation suffers to salve his massive yet fragile ego.

We are facing too many problems not to discuss, compromise and solve them together.

Acting like a petulant toddler will only serve to hamper our efforts. Have faith in expertise, maturity and competence again. Give us the chance to be one nation, indivisible and let us heal. For God's sake, let's act as grownups and see what happens next.

Leave selfishness at the door. Work with empathy, not hatred. Maturity not churlishness. Compassion not resentment.

The cogent, actual Republicans have to walk a fine line. If they get too much Trump Stink on them they'll be an easy target. But they need the base to win, and the base has completely bought into the QAnon-type worldview.

I don't know how that works out. They might be smarter to wait until 2028. This is a shit show.
