Jim Webb is Correct About Democrats Turning Back on White Voters

No, the Democrats are responding to changes in the country, not the other way around. Even 10 years ago try to imagine gay marriage having majority support. Support for the death penalty was in the high 60's in the 90's, nowadays it's barely above 50%. The country itself is factually less white nowadays too, and income inequality is a lot worse.

Jim Webb is trying to appeal to the Democratic Party of the 80's and 90's....we're in a completely different world now, even from just 10 years ago. Gallup polls and other sources show progressive views becoming a lot more popular in the Democratic voting group. The candidates moving to the left, at least socially, is just a natural reaction to the public moving left.

I half-way agree with Webb. The other part Democrats must return to is economic responsibility on the part of government.

There is no magical mushy middle to appeal to. Chasing what doesn't exist is a losing strategy.

He's the only candidate from either "major" party I'd vote for.

The majority of this country are not obedient, transparent partisan ideologues, we choose to think for ourselves, and anyone who pisses off both silly ends gets our attention.

Democrats should continue to alienate white voters. The party doesn't need more than 25% of voters to win.

The Dems have pretty much alienated all the working straight White voters.
Some just can't comprehend that and won't unless CNN tells them so.

Democrats know how to use a calculator. They've looked at the demographics, they've done the math, and they've decided this is the way to go.

They're almost certainly right.

It obviously doesn't bode well for race relations, but that's not the priority.

Webb's a dinosaur, he thinks it's wrong to leverage race for political gain, and as a result he doesn't have a chance at the nomination.

oh, Mac, you'll still be privileged as a white male. You need to get over yourself.

Webb is a guy who doesn't have the temperament to be president any more than Donald Trump, but he does appeal to white guys like you that like to blame your woes on the darkies instead of the wealthy.
