They know the level of popularity DeSantis enjoys, and they know he's gonna' win in a walk in November. Do an end-around on him would earn them well deserved consternation and they know it, and they know that Biden will be in no position to help them when they need help from the state...
Yes, it certainly could play a major role. The sad part is that, to some, even the most successful response to the storm will be criticized by many on the left...I wouldn't count on that if I were you. How DeSantis handles the recovery from Hurricane Ian will determine his future.
Because like it or not, DeSantis is the governor of the state of Florida, and being it is his state, he needs to be aware of what the federal government is going to be doing in his state during this crisis. The decision to recall, or jailed is not your all to make, it is the call of Floridians who have voted him into office. Until then, Biden and DeSantis need to be real leaders and put aside their politics and come to the aid of their constituents.Biden is doing ALL of those things. Why does he need to speak to DeSantis???
