The GOP needs 50 votes and they have 52. Two are an automatic. The usual suspects Rand Paul (used to be Olympia Snowe ret.)and Susan Collins...so all the Dems needed to stop the vote was one Republican Senator to not vote....and of course here comes John McCain to save the day.

Apparently he's taking time off from Trump bashing to have some sort of surgery done in Arizona. This important surgery, that cannot be done in Washington D.C. (because all of the greatest surgeons are in his home state of AZ) John McCain can't fly to Washington. His health, according to reports, is too fragile to risk any sort of flight.

Now, what makes everyone think we're buying this cock and bull story??

U.S. health insurers want Cruz proposal dropped from Senate bill

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two major U.S. health insurance groups on Friday called on Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell to drop from a healthcare bill a provision proposed by Senator Ted Cruz that allows insurers to offer stripped-down, low-cost healthcare plans.

"It is simply unworkable in any form and would undermine protections for those with pre-existing medical conditions, increase premiums and lead to widespread terminations of coverage for people currently enrolled in the individual market," America's Health Insurance Plans and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association said in a letter to McConnell and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer.

It just gets worse & worse for Crazy Ivan trump's PutinCare 37.0

It's more likely McConnell thanked McCain for the delay. Putting off the vote has become ordinary.

Yep.....the millionaires in the health insurance industry don't like having to offer cheap insurance.

That is just wrong.

I don't think he had the votes in the first place.
McCain is an asshole. He's on the George Soros payroll.
No surprise that the VA in AZ is a deathtrap for veterans.

Now everyone in the media claims that John McCain not being able to show up is a major setback, or some silly bs.

How selfish can McCain get!? Daring to get a blood clot that requires surgery before the healthcare vote. What a prick!

Also, Rand Paul's position concerning the ACA has been consistent this entire time. He wants it gone. Not some ACA-light. Not some small rollback. He wants it gone. Why should he go against his principles just b/c the rest of the party is in desperate need of anything that resembles a legislative victory? Fuck that. You should be applauding his unflappable principles instead.

Nothing like political polemics condemning political polemics. Is it possible that some of them may actually want something done that will work and help Americans out?

Of course some do. I am not a total cynicist...yet. lol

The problem is it's like fixing a plumbing problem. Last guy to touch it owns it.

He came back because of the 4th of July weekend ,had a eye exam, they found a bloodclot in his eye and he had eye surgery, which means you can't fly at high altitudes for a little while.
Nothing more nothing less.
Me thinks you look for conspiracies too much. :)

Oh, Lord. Don't even mention plumbing to me right now. I spent my Friday evening snaking out our basement sewer line. :puke:

Democrats will vote for any POS politician if they promise them something. They don't care if they were caught red-handed lying to them. They just think that lying and pulling rotten tricks is being clever.
Republicans won't vote for a liar and won't forgive a dishonest politician if he or she is caught doing what Democrats are caught doing all of the time.
This is the problem in America.
Half of the voters are inherently dishonest and don't give a flying-fuck about anything but themselves.
Much of the left's voters never take anything seriously.
They could care less that Democrats are bringing millions of low-lifes into this country to steal our jobs and murder our people.
They figure as long as it doesn't effect them personally it doesn't matter.

Yeah.....and Hillary really had a concussion too when she was supposed to testify.
Sorry, but I'm a bit more cynical about this stuff than you.
I know that all of the coincidences aren't by accident.
John McCain is on the Soros payroll......for some reason it's always him or Lindsey Graham throwing up roadblocks. He doesn't a have a decent thing to say about Trump and everyone knows that the Dems are going to fight tooth and nail to make sure that the GOP doesn't fix Obamacare so that a health care disaster doesn't happen next year. Forget about full repeal. They're just trying to make the POS less of a disaster. Everyone in Washington knows it was designed to fail. The Democraps are hoping that it fails next year so they can win back Congress and then crash the economy in 2020 so they can take back the WH.

Face the truth.....Democrats are only good at creating disasters.

Don't get me wrong McCain is my Senator and we are very angry with him here in AZ. for his crooked dealings, this eye thing isn't anything but coincidence.
He was so lilly livered he had controlled phone call town meetings scheduled.
Karma payback, maybe. :)

Are you serious? Even this requires a conspiracy theory?
ALL surgeons require their patients to remain in the area. I live in an area where most major surgeries by specialists are performed 90 miles away, including sometimes routine tonsillectomies on kids. Parents have to pay for a hotel room and stay for three days to have the kid rechecked.
Of course, McCain could go against doctor's advice, but why would he? Why should a bill be so damned tenuous that he can't have a week's medical leave? That's not HIS fault. It's the BILL's fault.

Susan Collins has also said no because half her state is on Medicare or Medicaid. This bill sucks and I have a feeling that when McCain returns and the bill is voted on, Paul and Collins will not be only "Nay"'s. CBO report is yet to come. We'll see, I guess, but that's my guess. Obamacare will stay in place for now.
