Small counties might have only 100 absentee votes, while larger counties might have tens of thousands. I expect each to staff or equip themselves in anticipation of the number of mail-in ballots they were expected to handle, based on the number of ballots they mailed out. Such as larger counties might use optical scanning equipment, and computerized signature verification. While smaller one's would get enough poll workers and building space to do their counts in.

I only was talking about the precise number of votes that were reported in that overnight timeframe for Sleepy...I dont know the total number or number of days or hours all the counting took but suspect it was a much slower pace.

Why would you suspect that and why would it matter?

Suspect being ahead by 130,000 as I went to bed, with some talk of certain states suspending counts overnight, and wake up early the next morning to find myself behind? I think that is totally something to be suspect of. And they are.

That's perfectly logical. On the night of the election the poll workers went though votes where the signatures were a clear match, hence could quickly be verified at a glance, and then submitted for tabulation. Those where there was a question about the signature were set aside, for scrutiny by election officials.

Being there are far fewer election officials, their count of those questionable signatures took a lot longer.

The only way I can see being surprised by that is if you didn’t understand that the numbers at bedtime were largely only representative of the in-person vote and that the still uncounted and unreported mail-in vote was expected to break for Biden. I don't know how many there are counting overnight or how long it takes to verify a mail in ballot. I do think it is strange for a 130,000 vote lead to be overturned in a few hours from say 10 PM to 7AM. Logical math doesn't work for me in this instance.

Says that each county would only need to count a little over 1500 each to achieve 130k.
You should re-evaluate your thinking.

The only way I can see being surprised by that is if you didn’t understand that the numbers at bedtime were largely only representative of the in-person vote and that the still uncounted and unreported mail-in vote was expected to break for Biden. In that case you should look for more comprehensive election coverage.

BUT this year it was JUNK MAIL voting that was causing problems.
The distinction was clear.
I requested with my signature on a absentee form. I received my ballot and signed the outside envelope so polling
officials would verify my signature with what was on file.
BUT JUNK MAIL voting didn't require that.
JUNK MAIL voting mailed millions of ballots to registered people on the voting rolls.

Divide the total of the mail-in vote and divide it by the number of days it took to count and there’s your average daily count.

The only way I can see being surprised by that is if you didn’t understand that the numbers at bedtime were largely only representative of the in-person vote and that the still uncounted and unreported mail-in vote was expected to break for Biden. In that case you should look for more comprehensive election coverage.
