The governors of Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina said they want the Confederate battle flag removed from motor vehicle license plates

Looks like the old confederacy is falling apart, 150 too late but falling apart :clap::clap2:

Will remove confederate specialty licence plates from production and will no longer offer them

This is fast moving all around the south

Governors Seek to Curb Confederate Flag License Plates - WSJ

McCrory wants to pull Confederate flag off NC specialty plates WRAL.com

I think its a good thing. That flag belongs in a museum, not as a constant reminder of the slave days, and remember ,

our of sight for the blacks as well, one less thing to bitch about. After all that flag is obsolete, part of history. Put this slavery behind us and the blacks should do the same.

The best way to popularize something is to ban it/make it illegal....

This is true. You're gonna see a whole lot of people who previously didn't care, digging the flags out.

From the NC link in the OP:

>> The state DMV said it has issued 2,064 Confederate flag plates to members of the North Carolina chapter of Sons of Confederate Veterans.

The organization calls the flag an important piece of history and their heritage. Paul Graham of the group's South Carolina chapter said the flag shouldn't be conflated with the Charleston church shooting and that removing the image from public places won't change people's actions.

"It will not change anything. What it will do is it will embarrass and shame people that have nothing to do with this event – nothing," Graham said. <<
I'm not a member of that group, don't have the license plate and have no interest in it. But he's right.

Not to mention -- these plates are already out there, on the road. What are they gonna do-- make them all send 'em back for new plates? :cuckoo:

Read an article on that earlier, had a good laugh over it.

Seems Va wants to recall and ban the 1,500 Confederate Plates they have issued.

1,500, in the ENTIRE state.

had to laugh.

I can just see someone buying out the stock of stome flag store, and reselling them at flea markets at greatly increased prices.

Buy @ $10, sell @$100

Hey I just thought of a great idea.

Let's ban alcohol.

All those drunk driving accidents, gone. Wouldn't that be great?
Know what else? We can ban porn. No more worries about what the kids are surfing.
Then we can ban speech we don't like. Cuts out all that arguing.

What a great plan. What could possibly go wrong.

We don't renew plates here. We just put the next sticker on the existing one.
I got one with at least ten layers of stickers.
