Holder's "justice" dept refused to press charges against the liberal democrat former mayor of San Diego who allegedly embezzled 2 million dollars from a couple of charities and ran up a gambling debt of a Billion dollars. The former mayor, Maureen O'Conner, was operated on for brain tumor a couple of years ago and federal attorneys decline to indict Ms O'Conner even though she seems to suffer only minor effects from the operation. Instead they recommend counseling and an attempt to pay the two million back. My guess is that if she had been a republican she would be behind bars before the month was out.

Smart enough to play poker but not smart enough to prosecute? :cuckoo:

Obviously, the brain tumor caused the mayor to embezzle the $2 million. Her brain functions were all messed up.

Now that the tumor has been removed, the former mayor is OK, and all is forgiven.

A seemless transition for the Democrats. From "Blame Bush" to "blame the brain tumor".

That's not entirely true.

Her attorney's negotiated a plea bargain with the Justice Department which requires her to pay back the $2 million, pay back taxes and enter gambling addiction counseling. She has two years to accomplish all that or she'll still face charges of embezzlement.

In addition, she still must face trial for the unlawful transfer of funds, which could net 10 years in the pen.

You're trying to make this into some kind of Democrat/Republican, liberal/conservatism case, but I guess you don't know that the former head of the Republican Party in Florida, Jim Greer, also just plea bargained his way out of a trial too, right?

Never forget...justice doesn't always mean punishment.

Yup, it isn't true at all.

If she was in court entering a plea, charges were pressed. You can't plead to nothing.
