Vice President Kamala Harris promised Friday that she would build 3 million new homes in four years if she were elected, but she and President Joe Biden barely managed to build eight EV charging stations in two-and-a-half years.
Harris said at a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina:
There’s a serious housing shortage in many places. It’s too difficult to build and it’s driving prices up. As president, I will work in partnership with industry to build the housing. We need both to rent and to buy. We will take down barriers and cut red tape including at the state and local levels. And by the end of my first term, we will end America’s housing shortage by building 3 million new homes and rentals that are affordable for the middle class.

This is just more cackling nonsense. From the Clown show that can’t manage to build EV charging stations to the cackling clown who is going to subsidize first time homebuyers with $25,000 of taxpayer money thus exploding the national debt.

Are the Dims really listening to the grandiose claims of a cackling clown?

Harris did not explain how those new homes were to be built in a high-interest-rate environment. She also did not explain whether she meant 3 million units in addition to those that would already have been built, or three million units total. Nearly 1.5 million homes were built in the U.S. in 2023, so 3 million over four years would actually mean construction had slowed down by 50%. Presumably, she meant 3 million additional homes — 750,000 extra per year.

That would match or exceed the pace of the peak housing boom of the post-World War II period. But Harris has a track record against which to measure her promise, and it is the failure of the Biden-Harris administration to build the electric vehicle (EV) charging stations that it promised to build under the infrastructure bill of 2021. at a cost of $7.5 billion. The goal was 500,000; two-and-a-half years later, as of May 2024, only eight EV stations had been built.

The situation is even worse when it comes to the Biden-Harris administration’s promise to build new broadband Internet connections. FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr toldBreitbart News earlier this week that despite $42.5 billion in the infrastructure bill for broadband, the effort had yet to connect one American to the Internet — and Vice President Harris was supposed to be in charge of the project. The prospects of Harris’s housing boom look doubtful.

Here's Kamalalala's dream of a housing plan: Soviet-style Khrushchevka...

She wants corporate welfare for home builders. I thought you lefties hated corporate welfare.

In case everyone has forgotten, Kamalalala's idiotic housing plan is the same thing that caused the 2008 Housing Mortgage Crisis that led to a recession. The Clinton administration and the Democrats were the ones that got the ball rolling on that, and GW ended up with all the blame.

Kamala promises that

1. she has no clue about market economies
2. she doesn't understand supply and demand
3. she believes historically discredited communist tactics work, when there is no historical evidence of this
4. she is in total denial about what caused the prosperity of the 1990s, tax AND SPENDING CUTS
5. government is the "solution" to everything, until it fails, and then try again with more government... result $35 trillion in debt

Affordable Housing is just a liberal euphemism for what used to be called "The Projects", so we can expect millions more units of project style apartments.

Places like Chicago's Cabrini Green, St. Louis's Pruitt Igoe, and New York City's Carter, which was immortalized in the tremendous film New Jack City.

The Left's plan is to drive people out of their modest 3500 square foot home in a suburban cul-de-sac, and move them into crowded and dangerous Inner City Ghettos.

"The World is a Ghetto" is the theme for this promise.

3 million is a pretty ambitious project considering the average build price is about 600k. Pretty close to 2 trillion dollars. Where the hell are they going to get that from?

From the same place she is going to get $25,000 for every first-time homebuyer and the hundreds of billions to support illegals.

Higher taxes is the key.

The new Projects will be located in high tax jurisdictions like Chicago. Since the plan is for "mixed income" projects, they'll be plenty of Middle Class people to foot the bill.

Javier Milei got rid of government-mandated rent control in Argentina, and the housing supply skyrocketed...

Well, it actually could be worse than that. Under Obama, they built a whole subdivision near here of nice two story middle class single-family homes and moved ghetto families into them. It wasn't cheap.

Did the new living arrangements De-ghetto-ize the plebeian occupants?
