Ah...but compassion without direction and result oriented goals simply becomes enabling.City govt. They think they are being compassionate by allowing thisWho is celebrating? That would be......of course ......should be scandalous....not something to celebrateUh... I hope you are jesting?53 sq blocks?????....seems like a minor prob.....though l'd like to know what quals as major.
You do realize how large 53 square blocks are? A few square miles with estimated 38,000 people living in conditions that have not existed since the dark ages. Literally. All because of inept/corrupt/delusional politicians in the area that are more interested in burying their heads in the sand and throw fairy dust in the air tham have to deal with a problem that might make them look raaaacist.
It is well beyond scandalous and right into criminal neglect.
The city leaders are far more interested in propping up artificial statistics and making themselves feel busy with conferences, meetings than having to get down to actually solving the problem which will REQUIRE tough legislation and oh so non liberal fairy dust policies. But that is not going to happen unless Los Angeles residents vote out the progressive morons and replace them with people who actually want to do something.
These are "progressive" politicians.
They can't bring themselves to so something that would be.... responsible.
Because being responsible requires discipline and hard decisions. That is simply not in their agenda.
And so far - the voters in Los Angels can't get past their own idealism either. They have all collectively allowed this to happen because, again, this is what happens when you elect people who base policy on idealism rather than realism.
