The U.S. Justice Department's civil rights division will be the lead agency investigating the shooting of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Gov. John Bel Edwards told reporters Wednesday.

The U.S. attorney's office, the FBI and state police also will be involved, he said.
Edwards said he has "very serious concerns" after having watched a cell phone video of the shooting.
"The video is disturbing to say the least," he said.
He said officials agreed there should be an independent investigation.
"There should be no doubt in anybody's mind that this incident is going to be investigated impartially and thoroughly," the governor said.""""

Damn, those black people with cell phones.....Betcha' their FREE Obama phones, too!

Wow....how convenient that the phone stopped filming what happened at the worst possible time for the officers......

And we don't see anything leading up to where the video starts.
That of course doesn't stop the hysterical OP from jumping straight to a conclusion.

Let's wait for a complete investigation.

Except it didn't. The guy with the cell phone reeled back after the first couple of shots.
It's amazing how we now have video and people still insist on living in denial.

It's amazing how fast you jump on a bandwagon.

What outrages me is the knee jerk assumptions made without knowing the full details.

The video clearly shows two police officers tackling him, pinning him down and on top of him when the one visible in the camera takes out his gun and shoots Sterling in his upper body at veryclose range....like maybe a few inches.

We didn't have technology like this 20 years ago. Black people with cell phones changes everything for redneck cops.
Uh huh. I applaud your ability to look at a single video of an incident and just know everything that happened from every angle. One of the benefits of bias toward redneck cops is, it gives you super powers, eh?

When you hear a cop screaming "get down on the ground" several times but the perp keeps on lunging it isn't the cop's fault.

Sure. Kill him quick. Not sitting down is punishable by death, and the cop is the judge and executioner.
