Law abiding Wisconsinites afraid for their safety

People who will not stand up for what they believe because they are afraid of smashed windows and slashed tires are cowards. Period.

People who attempt to cow others with physical violence like smashed windows and slashed tires are the cowards, Jake. Period.

Always that victimhood.

The police were holding people with anti-healthcare-legislation signs out of the hall for this public meeting. No anti-healthcare-legislation signs were allowed in.

The police were letting union members with approved signs in.

Do you have a better word than collusion?

How is it "victimhood" to call it what it was?

Of course....the Police were "in on it"......Right. :eusa_whistle:

Did the facts bother you? Does being a party hack mean that much to you?

Minor things? Someone throwing a brick through your window or slashing your tires is a minor thing? What I took "issue" with you on was your calling people "cowards" because they were afraid of retaliation from the political opposition simply for putting a sign in their yard or a bumper sticker on their car. The person here being dishonest is you. You made an insensitive statement that showed your willingness to accept people's property being vandalized if they were conservatives and I called you on it. You're right....your posts are "there" and they say volumes.

"Well then, I guess the cowards won't sacrifice a window for their Beliefs. I don't blame them, really - I mean, who does take this shit seriously, and actually puts their neck on the line? So taboo." GT

"Well, the person throwing the brick is a coward, also, of course." GT

Would have been a shame if those kinds of things had deterred people in the Civil Rights Movement.

But, let me interject that the fear is perhaps much worse than the actual acts of vandalism. It is a lot easier to say "I'm afraid someone MIGHT throw a rock thru my window if I put up a sign"...."I'm afraid someone MIGHT key my car if I put on a bumpersticker".....it is letting fear control you....or else it's a convenient excuse.

When people like GT see a broken window or a slashed tire as a price that has to be paid to express your political beliefs and refers to anyone not willing to pay that price as a "coward", then people's fear is understandable.

Most people don't want to be around violence. It scares them. They will go out of their way to avoid such a situation.

The violence that will be taking place in the streets of America because of the OWS protests is an attempt by the Left to impose their values on the public...values that the public voted against in the 2010 midterms. It's no different than what took place in Wisconsin. The voters elected conservatives to fix a problem. The Left responded by shutting down the State House. During the 2010 midterms the voters elected conservatives to fix a problem. The Left has responded to that by attempting to shut down major cities across the country.

I'm sorry, but you're a straight up ass hole.

I agree, as are those who cower before them. Pull up your big adult panties and motor on, OK?

Why? Because I pointed out how wrong your stand was on this issue? Because I pointed out that you accusing potential victims of violence of being "cowards" empowers the REAL cowards...people that skulk around in the night vandalizing the property of others?

If I'm a "straight up ass hole" for that, GT...then it's a label that I'll gladly accept.

No, because you're blatantly misinterpreting where I stand on the issue to make some soap box point that doesn't exist, instead of having a stand up conversation...........THATS WHY.

For THAT, you're an ass hole.

I'm quite capable of protecting myself and my property, Jake. For the others in society that are not, we have the rule of law to do it for them so they don't have to "cower". What people like you and GT advocate is survival of the fittest...that one person should be able to impose his or her beliefs on another person by the use of physical intimidation. That isn't what this country is based on.

No, we don't advocate it.

We advocate NOT fearing it, which is so blatantly clearly NOT advocating IT, dipshit.

Gee, and I thought it was because you realized that you'd painted yourself into a corner with your "coward" statement and couldn't figure out a way to gracefully extricate yourself.

So when Jake tells me to pull up my big adult panties and you call people cowards for wanting to avoid violence against their property you aren't advocating the use of physical intimidation against others? You two are amusing.

I stand by the coward statement and have explained why......

except your dumb, dishonest ass, is taking the coward statement (which I still stand by) as an endorsement of the ACT OF VIOLENCE that they're FEARING.

It's not.

That's your twisted logic streeeeeetching to make a soap-box point which doesn't exist.

Try honesty.

Sure, disagree that they're cowards, or not, for being afraid.

But don't try twisting people's words to fit your agenda. It's dishonest, and ass-holish.

Umm, no.

We're saying don't be afraid of it.

Not advocating it.

That you can't see the blatant difference is retarded, quite frankly.

As I type I'm listening to people calling in on a local conservative talk show. One caller noted the lack of Walker support signs. The host said people need to get off their butt and put the signs out. Then his phones and email inbox exploded with the reasons people aren't putting Walker signs in their yard or on their car.

Law abiding Wisconsinites are afraid to show support for Walker.

They're afraid for their safety. They're afraid their windows will be broken if they have a pro-Walker sticker. And they're especially afraid for the safety of their children.

An elderly caller said her tires were slashed and a hateful message left behind because she had a Walker bumper sticker.

THAT's what we're dealing with in Wisconsin. Some of these anti-Walker-ites are scary. Anti-Walker people feel free to talk as loud and as radically as they want, wherever they want. They make threatening phone calls to people who are doing business with Walker supporters. Anti-Walker teachers feel free to assign children to make drawings telling what is wrong with Walker. But parents are afraid to tell their children that they support Walker in case the child mentions it in school and is harmed in some way for it.

We've been living through months of this now. We don't want to let intimidation win. But some of these people have abandoned decency. You can't trust they know where the boundaries are anymore.

LOL. Whine, lie, snivel. You guys tried to screw over most of the citizens of Wisconsin, now you are getting your just deserts. Funny as hell.

Walker is dead meat. Dumb ass tried to impose the Koch Bros. wet dream of an oiligarchy on Wisconsin, and the voters have decided to kick the bum out. Good for them.

Cry, whine, and snivel all you want, we enjoy watching it.

So explain to me again why you refer to someone who doesn't want their windows broken or their tires slashed as a "coward"?

I guess that blacks in the South shouldn't have been afraid when some Klansman burned a cross on their front lawn? Would they be "cowards" as well?

Walker is going to survive the recall just like each and every other person survived their own recalls. Liberals are not in the majority in Wisconsin anymore. The people of Wisconsin are done with suffering under liberal policies.

All the libs have left is direct initimidation. Look for the voter registration rolls to be made public with the democrats publishing names and addresses of registered republicans.

Facts? What facts? There is a REASON hearsay is not admissable in a court of law, you know.

Walker was elected by the voters to fix Wisconsin's fiscal mess. In short order he's managed to balance the budget without raising taxes and without laying off teachers, firefighters or police. Now tell me why you think the citizens of Wisconsin are going to "kick the bum out"? The crying, whining and sniveling is being done by progressives in Wisconsin. They lost and they're not happy about it. Even worse for them? Walker is doing what he SAID he would do when he ran for office.

Okay, since you asked a fair question:

See my previous posts about the Founding of our Country, and what THOSE brave people were willing to go through, for THEIR beliefs.

And, the Blacks in the South fought for Freedom DESPITE the FEAR, that's the whole point, dumbass. Civil Rights movement? Hello00oo00?

Should they have stayed in their homes afraid?

No.

And that's our whole point.

And you're twisting it to "hey, guys, we're all for the violence! start throwing bricks!!" because you're a dishonest asshole. That's about it.

So, why do people have so much to "fear"? Let his record speak for itself.
