Terri Schiavo.

Sorry, but I read it correctly the first time.

I too remember Terri Schiavo's sad, torturous ordeal. It was wrong then it is wrong now. She died without ever having regained consciousness. I wonder who paid the tens of millions of dollars for her care?

Maybe something good came out of it as I'm sure millions of people who did not have one, executed (perhaps not the best word) a Living Will. I know I did. Do you have one to save your loved one's from being forced to make impossible decisions?

The point in her case is that the doctors had no idea her true state of awareness. She was a true vegetable, and death by dehydration is a very painful, slow way to die, they have no idea if she suffered or not, they only did it because it was the coward's way out to say it was nature and not them that killed her.
