I have long disliked BOTH Clintons, but a factor that half brained right wingers neglect to acknowledge (or ar NOT capable of acknowledging) is this:

Most polls (with a few exception) gauge ONLY the opinions of common voters and only peripherally gauge how the whims of the electoral college would vote.........

Since polls gauge the popular vote, pollsters had it CORRECT that Clinton would win IF our elections were determined strictly on the majority of votes........but our elections are not determined by the number of votes, and both Trump AND GWB have benefited from this factor.

Polls don't take into account, people like myself, who won't answer a phone if we don't know who it is that is calling. The only polls I take are online. Successful people don't do phone polls. So you are only polling the riff raff when you do that.

Pollsters are constantly wrestling with the problems associated with polling by phone. Still, they are familiar with how the electoral college works, and they blew it bigtime. Since the margins were always small, a few people changing their minds, and others lying to the poll takers queered their results.

It was the most entertaining political phenomenon of my life...watching the results come in and all those wise guys having to eat their words.
