I strongly believe that a lot of the extreme divisiveness that exists between the left and right has been patiently built by foreign trolls using social media over the past few decades. Oh, there's plenty more to it, but during the campaign, it sure did build to a crescendo, and everyone knows it.

What better way to incapacitate a country than to render its political system incapable of working? As of today, we have eleven states with no budget because their legislature or governor could not come to an agreement. In Washington, we can't get a remedy for out of control healthcare spending because left and right cannot compromise and agree to a solution. There are plenty of examples. The left and right have different approaches to the country's problems, but they used to be able to compromise and come to some kind of agreement to address problems. No more.

Putin, of course, says he has nothing to do with it and if some of his citizens are adding to the social media platforms, it is simply "patriotic Russians."

That is what I am referring to.
