The FBI Homicide statistics show the number of ARRESTS made not the number of convictions. An arrest is reflected as part of the UCR regardless of innocence or guilt.
The report doesn't stipulate how many of those arrested are later exonerated or freed due to lack of evidence. Yet, all who are arrested, ostensibly, become one of the statistics.

That sounds cut and dry, doesn't it? But is it really? Let's stop for a moment and explore some of the less well known details of the FBI crime reporting data base.

The Uniform Crime Report consists of arrest data collected from virtually every law enforcement agency across the nation. The accuracy of that reporting has been my focus for some time; and, for any fair minded person,
that concern should be projected as well. Here is why:

We know the budgets of police agencies generally depend on how well they are fighting crime. Those agencies have a vested interest in keeping crime statistics high to justify their existence. It doesn't take a genius to realize inflating arrest reports, especially of Blacks, doesn't harm anyone but Blacks.

Now, wait! I am not defending Black criminality at all. It's out there. But, it is not the whole 13 or14% representative of the whole Black population either committing or being arrested for those crimes. We have grown accustomed to seeing that correlation but it is a false one
that has gone on for far too long.

In reality, since Black males are believed to be the perpetrators of, as Matthew puts it, 50% of all murders in the USA for a given year. Let's do a bit of elementary math and say Black males of all ages make up roughly half the Black population. That means they represent 6.5 or 7%, of the US population depending whether the base for all blacks is 14% or 13%. Do you see where I am going with this?

The percentage drops considerably when you subtract all the decent Black males who hold jobs and stay out of trouble and those exonerated. That means a small minority of Blacks, between 2-3% of the US population is supposedly ARRESTED for 50% of homicides and a nominal percentage of all other crimes... That 13% Matthew keeps citing is wrong and any one who publishes that info is WRONG! Don't Blame the entire Black community for the conduct of Black criminals.

Here is an idea: Since we are all Americans, crime is 100% ALL of our problem. There are millions of Caucasian criminals out there too. What good is it to keep looking at statistics and pointing fingers at the Black community when, according to those same FBI stats, a White person is far more likely to be victimized by another White person than he/she is a Black criminal. Believe it or not... Lets join hands and fight crime as one nation; as ONE PEOPLE!
