Some of you here may be too young to remember that that is exactly what Adolph Hitler did and said about "hate speech" against the 3rd Reicht. I have read Hayward's blog post and find it objectionable and demeaning to its targets, but I find it quite a bit short of "hate speech". The remedy to such speech is public debate and ridicule. I think this is the gist of the CU-Boulder faculty chairman's argument. Neither he nor any one else is suggesting censorship.
