Live from the ground in Charleston: We arent Ferguson or Baltimore

The phrase man bites dog is a shortened version of an aphorismin journalism which describes how an unusual, infrequent event (such as a man biting a dog) is more likely to be reported as news than an ordinary, everyday occurrence with similar consequences, such as a dog biting a man. An event is usually considered more newsworthy if there is something unusual about it; a commonplace event is less likely to be seen as newsworthy, even if the consequences of both events have objectively similar outcomes.

Yes. It is very uncommon for a cop to commit a wrongful act. You're right. I stand corrected.

Slow down there capt assumption. Its not uncommon, the black community has known about this for some time. Its just that now there are more cameras catching them in the act.

Its only surprising to white people

No...you said it yourself. Its uncommon.

1, 000, 000 cops in America. A few dozen really bad videos a year. Heck...even 10, 000 bad ones would only be 1%.

You're right. Its very uncommon. Not sure what all the outrage is about.

Man bites dog is the appropriate analogy.

Thats what Wiki said, for YOU its uncommon but like I said we've known about this for a while, but whites thought it was just blacks imagination

Um....no. The math of # of incidents vs # of officers confirms exactly what your analogy implied. That its quite rare. Glad you finally acknowledged that.

Walter Scott was gunned down, shot in the back by a cop now this act or rightwing white terrorism , these "people" have become emboldened

Can't white wash this anymore, there is something systemically wrong , can't be the daily vitriol we hear from rightwing radio and fox "news" now can it ,since a Black man become president

And Baltimore has had about 100 blacks killed in 2 months. More than the City of Charleston combined past 5 years worth of murders.

Yes. We have problems.

If it had been a young black, we would never have heard this story except on FoxNews.

Was it a cop that went in and shot those eight people? No, it was a whack job kid, so why would people riot?

So the people are less dead because a cop didn't kill them?

You're a whack job when it comes to police dude, you really are.

This really isn't hard to understand.

That you let your dislike of cops affect your logic skills? No that isn't hard to understand.

You're missing his point entirely.

Riots are generally reactions against perceived injustice - that, or whether a sports team won or lost.

This is a tragedy, but not an injustice.

You're right Bucs90...I'm sure the police keep accurate records of abuse reports by citizens.

Except, they dont. So when you look at the numbers just remember those are the numbers the police recorded.

Think about it like this: A woman asks a man how many times he cheated. He says once. Until she brings up the slut down the street then he says "ok, twice".

You are the girl in this analogy. You believe the guy because he says so? He gave two answers, which do you go with?
