Lois Lerner was placed on administrative leave...which means we tax payers got to keep paying her salary and benefits while she sat on her ass at home. Lerner didn't resign until September, four months AFTER the story broke. She resigned with her pension and benefits intact...even as she refused to answer questions about what happened in her department at the IRS. In essence we gave Lois a four month paid vacation for her actions! Isn't the Federal Government wonderful!!!

What they need to threaten Lois Lerner with is jail time.

The IRS is supposed to be non-political. They are not supposed to allow themselves to be used by ANY political party or Administration to punish political opponents. The reason that the Tea Party groups are "upset" is that Lerner singled them out for extra scrutiny based not on what they had DONE but because they had the words "Patriot" or "Tea Party" in their names.

Yes, if you put the words "Tea Party" on a form that says "Social Welfare Agency", that will probably indicate that you are trying to commit FRAUD.

What's shocking about what was done by Lerner and it appears some members of the Obama White House is that they decided that the Supreme Court's decision on Citizen's United shouldn't apply and decided to go outside of the law and halt conservative money from being put into political action groups simply by delaying approval of those groups with a series of questions designed to slow down the process. They didn't reject the applications...they deliberately stalled them...some for years.

So these groups were trying to fraudently collect money, and because the IRS said they had to actually prove that they were "Social Welfare Agencies",

The SCOTUS decision was never meant to allow contributions to be hidden through Social Welfare agencies, and it was left up to the IRS to determine which ones were legitimate.

When it was formed in 2004. Well before SCOTUS fucked everything up with Citizen's United and left the IRS to try to figure it out.

And there was no real question about the law and how it was used. MMFA doesn't do politics. It reports on things that are said on the media and questions them. And, yes, they have a partisan bent. But they aren't going around saying "Vote for Crazy McTeabag", which is what these Teabagging groups were doing.

Here's the thing. The Teabagger groups could have applied for tax exempt status as 527 groups. They were j ust required to state who their donors are if they did.

Enroll America Director Resigns

EnrollAmericaStatementChris Tarango, Texas Communications Director for Enroll America, a Sebelius-linked group dedicated to signing people up for Obamacare, resigned following a Project Veritas investigation. The video exposé showed Tarango conspiring to release private data to help a political action committee.

The resignation occurred Friday evening and was originally reported by Ashley Allen of KCEN (NBC) in Texas. Justin Nisly, Press Secretary for Enroll America, confirmed the resignation of Christopher Tarango in an emailed statement to KCEN about the incident on Friday. Project Veritas has reached out to Enroll America multiple times receiving no response and no statement can be found on Enroll America’s website.

A complaint has also been filed with the IRS accusing Enroll America of violating its tax-exempt nonprofit status by engaging in partisan politics. This is the second complaint against Enroll America. Sebelius’ relationship with Enroll America is currently under investigation by a government ethics audit for her role in fundraising for the group.
