Lois Lerner to take the 5th. Again.

Any sensible person takes the 5th when hauled into a kangaroo court by McCarthyite thugs. Issa wants reasons to pin any kind of crime on Lerner. No matter what she said, he'd find a way to twist it into a crime. Hence, the intelligent course is to not give him anything to work with. People acted the same way at McCarthy's tribunals.

McCarthy, like Issa, was also caught using phony evidence, and also had a lot of wannabee tough guy men screaming that their hero was only chasing traitors. McCarthy was called out by one Joseph Welch with his famous "Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?". Cummings is now playing the role of Welch. The backers of Issa/McCarthy aren't happy about it, hence why they openly cheer the tactic of having Cummings censored.

Issa backers, have you no sense of decency?

Now THAT was just plain hilarious! Liberals use the IRS to handicap the political opposition, get caught...and then accuse conservatives of McCarthyism because they ask that those responsible are punished?

The truth of the matter is that this scandal has made it's way to the doorstep of the White House Special Counsel. That's inside the Obama White House. A Special Prosecutor should have been appointed to investigate this six months ago as soon as it became obvious that Eric Holder's Justice Department was never going to conduct a serious investigation into the targeting of conservative groups. Holder is not working for the people...he's working for Barack Obama.

Actually, no.

Special Prosecutors are unconstitutional and usually abuse their power.

You republicans remember Lawrence Walsh and Patrick Fitzgerald, don't you? Guys who couldn't prove their primary cases of much more serious accusations of abuse, so went about charging the bit players with minor crimes.

What really needs to happen is Congress needs to sit down and rework the tax code so that it is VERY CLEAR what is a "Social Welfare Charity" and what is "Political Organization".

So simple even THIS RETARD can figure it out.

Special Prosecutors are "unconstitutional" and usually abuse their power? Really, Joe? LOL Why don't you admit that you don't want this investigated because you know as well as I do that the trail of who's responsible for the abuse of power at the IRS leads STRAIGHT TO THE OBAMA WHITE HOUSE!

How does reworking the tax code bring to justice the liberals who just abused the tax code to take away the rights of their fellow Americans to have their voices heard in the last election? To be blunt, Joe...you guys abused the power you had...handicapping the opposition leading up to an election and you got caught red handed doing so. When Nixon attempted to do the same thing he was faced with impeachment and forced to resign. The Obama White House USED the IRS against political opponents and we can't even get an investigation started to put those who did it in jail because the Attorney General of the United States is Barry's best buddy and is protecting him at all costs. "Unconstitutional"? Since when do you liberals care about the Constitution? If you did we wouldn't be having this conversation because you would have followed the law in the first place.

Bunch of lies. Even Issa the dirtbag now admits there isn't a bit of evidence it leads t the White House.

Ah, hate to shatter your illusions, Paper but there is a trail of e-mails going from Lerner to the White House Special Council's office in regards to the IRS scandal. You can keep saying that there isn't a connection but that's simply wishful thinking on your part. Trust me, if this WAS just Lerner and some "rogue" IRS people in one office, Obama would have thrown them under the bus in a heartbeat. The reason that Eric Holder is dragging his feet on this investigation is that it DOES involve the Obama White House...specifically the White House's Special Council to the IRS, William Wilkins...an Obama political appointee.

So what if it doesn't go to the WH? We pretty much know they did it and her taking the 5th proves it in most people's eyes. If this were a republican doing the same you would be saying he same.

Listen, what happened here is quite obvious. Someone in the Obama White House decided to play hardball with conservative groups by getting their people in the IRS to delay conservative's applications for tax exempt status. They didn't deny the applications...what they did was make the applicants chase their tails with additional questions and demands for additional information that liberal groups did not face. This isn't something that's debatable...because it obviously happened. The reason that Lois Lerner is taking the 5th is that she KNOWS it happened and she KNOWS who it was above her that knew it happened.

When did he claim there was? Oh yeah never.
You arent the most dishonest poster on this thread only because the bar is so high.

And yes, this had to be a political operation. And political operations start at the WH. Was it Obama? Jarrett? Emanuel? Who knows. But all those meetings between Obama and the head of the IRS weren't to discuss the layout of 1040s. No direct evidence. Yet. But the circumstantial evidence is substantial. When Lerner said there was tremendous pressure for the IRS to do something after Citizens United, pressure from whom? To do what?
That is suggestive right there.

You are free to wonder, and she has a right to do so.

And she can be held in contempt and put in jail until she changes her tune.

By who?

The House?

You really have to starting understanding how the government functions..

Since the Eric Holder Justice Department would be needed to make a contempt charge against Ms. Lerner take place it's obvious that "function" will not take place. Which of course is why a Special Prosecutor should have been appointed long ago to investigate this scandal.

That is suggestive right there.

He said it at the beginning of his Investigation.

He's also said that this was the most corrupt administration in history. And he said that in 2009..before they even did anything.

And he's had multiple investigations into trumped up "scandals" that have led no where and cost time and money.

Issa should be an embarrassment to you folks.

True.
And the proof is that the IRS was rolling out new rules that would do legitimize what they were already doing. Those rules passed their comment period this week. Even liberals were opposed to them and the threat to free speech they represent.

So we have a Democratic Party scared of Citizens United and what it means. We have the IRS urged to "do something" about it, but admitting they have no rules in place to do so. We have the IRS stalling Tea Party groups and asking for additional unwarranted information, all ahead of a presidential election. We have the IRS promulgating new rules that would enshrine their behavior into law. And we have the head of that division repeatedly taking the 5th rather than answer questions about her emails where she lays this out. Oh yeah, she also moved government work to her private email account to avoid discovery.

And libs here really want to say this is a phony scandal and all made up?? Are you people totally brainless??

Did IRS chief really visit White House 157 times? ? CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs
(CNN) – In the early days of President Barack Obama's sweeping new health care law, Douglas Shulman, then the commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, was cleared to visit the White House 157 times over three years, official visitor logs show.

More than 50 of Douglas Shulman's scheduled visits are described as "health care meetings" or "health care reform meetings," according to the visitor logs. Arrival times are only listed for 11 of his visits, and it's not unusual for a person to appear on the visitor logs - which are derived from Secret Service clearance lists - without actually having visited the White House. The majority of the visits were set to be held in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which houses office suites for administration aides.

The IRS, which has come under fire for its admitted targeting of conservative groups applying to become tax exempt, is responsible for enforcing many of the new rules associated with Obamacare, which was signed into law on March 23, 2010.

Official White House visitor logs show Shulman's scheduled White House visits came between October 2009 and December 2012. Shulman was appointed by President Bush in 2008 and left the post in November 2012. On Fox News Thursday, Shulman's predecessor Mark Everson stated he'd only visited the White House once during his tenure as IRS commissioner, though visitor logs for the Bush administration aren't available publically online.

According to an inspector general report from earlier this May, March 2010 was the month IRS agents began filtering applications for tax-exempt status using the words "tea party" and "patriot." The agency experienced a flood of new applications after the Supreme Court decision in the Citizens United case that opened the door to increased corporate and private political spending.

I'm curious, Sallow...what would you say was the status of the Justice Department investigations into Fast & Furious, Benghazi and the IRS scandals? Have you heard ANYTHING about the work that Eric Holder's folks are doing to get to the truth in any of these? If so...please share with us what the DOJ has learned...:lol::lol:

Yeah, and there was a standown order too...Benghazi!!

And Fast & Furious was: InPeach!

And Obama shutdown the government

And there still is a Michelle "whitey" tape out there.

One of these days, just one of these days...we'll git 'em!

You do know this idea was floated when Cheney was in play..don't you?

The House can't throw anyone in prison. It doesn't have that sort of Authority.

What they can do is remove elected officials from their posts or people from their jobs. Lerner isn't even employed by the government any longer.

Funny. Almost as though Cummings interrupted the hearings and went nuts on purpose in order to get the predictable praetorian media (who always thirsts for any perception of racism) to focus on that, rather than the criminal Lerner pleading the 5th again.

Even though she claims she has done nothing wrong, she pleads the fifth.

The reaction from the left, in typical fashion, of this piece of shit taking the 5th.....

I can't wait until Lerner gets hit with the individual lawsuits against her in the future.........

She had better get used to pleading the 5th................
