I know there are about 18 charges, but will Manafort be generally found guilty or innocent - especially on the major charges?

ALEXANDRIA, Va. ― A prosecutor with Robert Mueller’s special counsel team labeled Paul Manafort a serial liar during closing arguments in the former Trump campaign manager’s trial for tax and bank fraud.

Describing Manafort as a capable, bright and “wildly successful” political consultant, prosecutor Greg Andres on Wednesday told jurors they’d seen “overwhelming” evidence of his guilt, and asked them to convict on all 18 counts.

“Mr. Manafort knew the law, and he violated it anyway,” Andres said.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the star witness in this case is the documents,” Andres said. Manafort, he said, is “not above the law.”

The docs are pretty damning. Manafort was caught in E-mail admitting to ownership of the very foreign accounts he insists he didn't know anything about.

I say he's fucked.

The collapse of the collusion narrative is getting worse

Smiling.....um, 'collapse'? Trump straight up admitted that his campaign colluded with the Russians, insisting that a meeting between his campaign personnel and a Russian operative was to collect information on his political opponent.

Worse, Don Jr's emails affirm that his campaign knew that the info they were seeking came from 'high level sources' as part of the Russian governments efforts to aid Trump's campaign.

Worse still, Trump has lied about the meeting repeatedly. He's compelled others to lie by personally dictating statements that perpetuate his lies about the meeting. And he's tried to shut down the investigation into his campaign's meeting with the Russian operative.

And his long time personal lawyer Michael Cohen recently revealed that Trump *knew* about the meeting. With Trump bragging publicly how his next rally was going to reveal details about Hillary.....only 2 days before the meeting

Plus......Don Jr. was caught on wiretaps by the Spanish government trying to set up a meeting with Russian Intelligence Handler Alexander Torshin during Trump's election campaign. And those recordings have been turned over to the FBI. And presumably Mueller.

So much for your 'collapsed' narrative. That's just wishful thinking for an investigation that's ludicrously productive and very effective at finding evidence of criminal activity among Trump's campaign and administration.

Hasn't this trial been separate from any possible collusion for pretty much the entire time?

We will find out the verdict tomorrow. No point speculating. I'm not convinced the jury will be able to convict. Look at the opinions on the board. Split fairly even.

You think the defense has convinced 12 people beyond a reasonable doubt? Probably not. But who knows?

Since this trial is the most idiotic in history and nothing to do with The Donald, I and nobody else has followed it except fake news. Based on what I gather, the prosecution is claiming Manafort wanted to keep the money he earned in 2005. IMO, wanting to keep the money you earn is the right of every American citizen. If he intentionally violated the ridiculous US Federal Tax Code, then fine him and make him refile and pay the difference. That said why is a tax code violation worse than a violent crime in which murderers are free after the statute of limitations applies? Very sad. Witch hunter Mueller is probably having his FBI stooges remind the jury that an innocent verdict puts them in the same danger as Seth Rich faced.

Prosecution painted an out of control and bankrupt Manafort ready to swindle banks to refill his pockets. Period.

... with mountains of documentation as support. No brainer conviction on all counts.

How is Manafort some great money laundering genius when the prosecutions top witness was a guy who admitted he stole millions from him?

And yet the defense ripped them apart.

and the prosecution put up Gates, one of the least credible witness one could find.

There is reasonable doubt. Best I expect the prosecution get at this point is a hung jury.

but who knows. Once the jury has the case it's impossible to predict what happens

I think Manafort has something on Trump and is expecting a pardon or else....
Good chance this might get fairly ugly.
