Um... I have to say Mark Sanford really worked one over on the people of South Carolina. I guess not even Republicans have any morals. You know, the same Mark Sanford that ran off to South America to be with his "soul mate" at the expense of his marriage?

Sometimes I can be so embarrassed to be associated with the Republican party. However, I think it's real funny that the Democrats couldn't field a candidate strong enough to beat him.

Sanford was not an unknown who fooled around on his wife. He was a congressman for this district before. The people must have liked what he did for them. As opposed to what a democrat wanted to do to them. Those voters, selfish as they are, chose to ignore or forgive cheating in exchange for doing the same good job he did before.

He was convicted of a violation of ethics code and was censured.
Big difference between being censured and impeached for dereliction of his duties.

The hypocrisy is how the right, the religious right, which is Sanford's district, bashed Bill Clinton for such things and have done a 180 when it comes to Sanford.

BTW, Sanford was one of the Clinton bashers in the forefront calling for his head during Lewinski-gate.

Again, his personal life doesn't bother me, it's his business, but he did derilict his duty, which bothers me. The left is upset that the right are being mega hypocrites over this thing.
