Media Matters for America linked with anti-American, anti-Israel Al-Jazeera network

Jroc, have you ever watched a minute of Al Jazeera in your entire natural-born life? Even once?

I have. Do you have a point?

Yes - my point is that Al Jazeera is a pretty balanced and moderate news network. They are not extremists, they do not promote terrorism and they are not a wing of AQ. Anyone with an opportunity to watch it would realize this, but it doesn't fit the meme in conservative media.

You can see as much of an agenda with their reporting as you can see coming out of MSNBC and FOXNews....which is to say they have a leaning in one direction that is obvious to those viewing things from a neutral position.

al jezeera is so sophisticated, worldly and objective

it can help us to "understand" the muslim world better...............lol

Most libs and most muslims hate the Jews....so it is natural they align in the media to takedown the Jews and the US.

Fair enough. They are as biased as either Fox or MSNBC. In the scope of worldwide media, that's a fairly balanced perspective. I watched a lot of Al Jazeera during the uprisings in north Africa this last spring / summer and found it to be a refreshing perspective. It's interesting to see news stories from the Middle East that don't start and end with the role of the US (and I don't mean that to be an indictment of US media - US media covers US interests.)

really i basically learned most of what I know of the middle east and muslim cultures since 9/11.

My views have evolved and changed a lot over time as I take in more information and see varying views and opinions coming out of the region and the cultures there.

What is it that you have known for decades that I have not?

S'Nothin'. AP/Yahoo ran an article from al Jazeera in their politics section today. Al Jazzeera's POV trumps American political news? Or perhaps it coincided with Barry's approved version of the world.
Remember three years back and Barry's statement "America has always been a Muslim Country", maybe Barry just lost his place in time and couldn't remember he hadn't finished his "Fundamental Transformation" yet.

There's this story about this Tenth or Eleventh Century Lithuanian King who was in the process of paying his Polish counterpart an official vist. The Polish King noticed the Lithuanian King couldn't take his eyes off of one of the Polish princesses decorating the King's Court,
The Polish King told the Lithuanian King he would make him a deal; He could have the Polish Princess for his own if he would agree to his country's conversion to Roman Catholicism.
The Lithuanian King thought for a few seconds "Gotta have that woman! Gotta have that woman!" and said "Deal!"
No record was kept of the fate of the Lithuanian King's countrymen who refused conversion.

Jroc we all know media matters is driven by political agenda and not honest reporting.
Wow.....that's a nearly-overwhelming list of examples (of dishonest-reporting), you posted.

As usual Shaman has to modify my post and ignore parts of what I said to make something fit into the point he wanted to make, you are soooo transparant Shaman, your name should be Sham-man.

This fits into their agenda, I don't think they are in "cahoots" with media matters its just the two groups share some parts of each others politically driven "messaging" agenda

Media Matters = Pushing for Socialism first, liberalism 2nd.

I use their website myself, but only when getting more sources for stories from the region.

That Islam is a bigoted, corrupt, closed-minded, uneducated, infantile, violent, self important, 8th century, shift blaming, rotting, mythologized, ill governed, uncompetitive, oppressive, unlawful, lazy, intolerant, tribal bunch of neanderthal zealots that all adds up to a bankrupt, failed civilization..................

Some, but not all, muslim cultures are as you describe. Mainly those cultures with a strict adherance to what they call "Sharia Law" fit your description.

There are A LOT of muslims who do not subscribe to Sharia Law though. Many are really cool people and are just like everyone else.

I love how people who have never actually watched Al Jazeera are convinced it's completely biased television news...all because they were told this by their elders at Fox News.

Try watching it sometime.

No way. Watch it? You crazy man. It an association game. You see it has an Al in front. Righties can't stand that. Reminds them of Al Gore or Al Sharpton.

What a surprise, left wingnutters have a lot in common with Muslim assholes.
The fact that they love theocracy is more like the new republican party. Santorum would be a perfect candidate for your party.

We survived our first Catholic President, John F Kennedy without becoming a theocracy. What makes you think Santorum would try to force his religion on anyone?
I see no similarity between how Santorum is running and how JFK ran.
