Memphis police officer killed in traffic stop

How in the hell can they Protect and Serve when they're spending more time in Duck and Cover?

The police chief says this is the third time in four years.

Yes, all lives matter. Nova's as well.

I attribuite this, as well as the majority of other negative and tragic events occurring the process of contemporary law-enforcement, to the War On Drugs -- which has increased the number of car stops by police by more than ninety percent since Reagan initiated the counterproductive boondoggle.

Watch the TV "ride-along" documentary, COPS, and it becomes abundantly clear that the primary motivation for stopping cars under risky circumstances is to search for drugs.

Eliminate the drug war, which serves no productive purpose, and far fewer cops will be killed.

They can spend less time, and stop wasting time and money, by ceasing the War On Drugs which serves no constructive purpose and is in fact wholly counter-productive.

Recreational drugs are no less available today than they were when Reagan started the drug war thirty-five years ago. In fact they are more available today and they cost less. Yet the public seems oblivious to the monumental waste of human and material resources and the incremental transformation of America into a conditional police state which are the ultimate result of this destructive anti-drug legislation.

Or just execute repeat drug offenders. Can't be helped you have no place in civilized society
Specifically how would you describe a "repeat drug offender?"

Willie Nelson has been arrested three times for marijuana possession. He is a "repeat drug offender." Would you consider executing Willie -- or the many "repeat drug offenders" like him?

If so, why?

Robert Downey Jr is a repeat drug offender.

War on Drugs is a failure, always has been, just a god send for private prison and guards unions.

Those selling drugs. Those that are so addicted that they can't be helped via rehab and continue to be a detriment to society. Nelson is not that.

Take the profit motive out of the illegal drug industry and the killing stops, the insane money stops, and the healing can begin.

MEMPHIS, TN - (localmemphis.com)

The Memphis Police Department have identified a suspect in the murder of Officer Sean Bolton.

Officers say the man responsible is 29 year old Tremaine Wilburn, who was a passenger in the car that Officer Bolton pulled over.

According to MPD Director Toney Armstrong, Officer Bolton was interrupting an apparent drug deal. Officers say the amount of drugs found was less than 2 grams of marijuana.

In Tennessee, possession of that amount of marijuana is a misdemeanor, with potential arrest and jail time possibly avoided.

Wilbourn was on supervised release from a 10 year sentence from robbing a bank.

Right now, the city council is offering a $10,000 reward for the arrest of Wilborne, who now faces charges of first-degree murder.

At the press conference, Mayor A.C. Wharton spoke and also says the U.S. Marshal service plans to offer and additional reward of $10,000 for his arrest.
