Newt Gingrich was the guest of honor. But Michele Bachmann was the butt of the jokes.
At the 20th annual Wild Irish Breakfast, lawmakers jabbed the congresswoman for her recent Revolutionary War gaffe, in which she erroneously placed the battles of Lexington and Concord in New Hampshire instead of Massachusetts.
Former Manchester Mayor Bob Baines joked that Bachmann told him she wanted to see the George Washington mansion at Mount Vernon, New Hampshire.
Gov. John Lynch cracked Bachmann told him "she wants to go to Pittsburg [New Hampshire] to see where the Steelers play football.
Lynch added, And she really wanted to go to Berlin to stand at the place where Ronald Reagan called on Gorbachev to tear down this wall."
