The excluders of today.
What's next, 'black only' rest rooms, water fountains ?
Looks like today's blacks want to see a practice once denounced, return.

This month and next dozens of universities across the nation, from private top-tier schools to public state institutions, will host segregated graduation ceremonies and celebrations for their black graduates.

These supplementary ceremonies are voluntary and are offered in addition to the universities’ regular graduations. Sometimes they’re co-hosted by black campus resource centers and various academic departments. They serve to give extra honors and recognition to black students earning their degrees.

The popularity in offering these segregated graduations also seems to be growing. A new report by the National Association of Scholars that looked at 173 schools found that 76 of them, or 44 percent, offer such ceremonies.

Sounds good to me. Anything to speed up those frightfully boring affairs.

If you're ever being oppressed, I'll fight for you. I promise I won't join the side that's claiming you're not being oppressed and that you should be more oppressed.

Do you think that any white person would want to be in that school? Let them segregate their colleges and universities. The inner city schools are fucked, so are these graduates. What did you get your degree in Jamal? "I got ma dgree in Pollitiks." Axe me nuther question.

Who's being oppressed ?

Evidently this kind of segregation is just fine with some here.

For them, it's not about inclusion, healing and progress. It's about division, punishment and payback.

Then you need to help out non-blacks here in PG County, MD.

We implemented court-ordered busing here in PG County from 1973 until well into the 1990’s, long after the place had become mostly black.
The first thing to happen in my mostly-white school (at that time) was the creation of black studies curriculum and a black student union.
Segregation was being reimplemented from the outset by blacks.

Once these kids get out in the workplace, they'll discover they're going to have to work alongside people of other races, and their not going to be able to demand that they have a black only workplace.
Might be a shock to them.

Actually this new self segregated graduation movement creates twice as many ceremonies so it's not really speeding up anything when everything is taken into account.
Maybe gays should have their own ceremony, Hispanics, Asians, Jews, Muslims, etc. if you think this step back to the '60s is really a good thing.
