I’m not having it both ways. Pelosi wasn’t consulted about troops at the Capitol before the riot. If she demanded them, she would still have to get the approval from the Senate Sargent at Arms and Capitol Architect.

After the Capitol Police Board proved themselves to be a bunch of screw ups, then they started getting involved.

Pelosi had no reason to believe that Trump’s rally would turn into a massive riot that day. Are you suggesting she can see the future?

It was a little late to warn Pelosi he was sending rioters minutes before he did it.

The rally was a mile away. Why did he keep it a secret that he was sending them to the Capitol? If he had told people what he was going to do, they probably would have wanted more security but since they had no idea, they didn’t see the need to deploy them on the grounds of the Capitol.

According to your article, the Pentagon asked Trump to authorize as many as 20,000 NG deployed to the Capitol.

That never happened.

So not only is there no evidence Trump ever asked for 10K-20K NG, now we see he rejected having the NG present at the Capitol.
