Most of the refugees did not want to leave Syria. But because Asaad decided to start killing his own people which paved way for ISIS to grow, Syrians are forced to leave their country so they don't die.

Many Syrians aren't even practicing Muslims. These refugees don't want to bring shariah to the west. Shariah isn't wasn't even in place before this mess in Syria started.
