New Twitter files drop Dec 16th…FBI directly contacted Twitter and told them who to ban…emails to prove it,

That poster knows. They are just an unprincipled asshole who always moves the goalposts.

Go back and look at some of the posts that poster has made.

They are always wrong on nearly every issue.
It's part of what makes USMB so fun. :)

The White House claims that Twitter was the entity which made the final decisions. While this is undoubtedly true, it will be interesting to see if this is litigated at some point. The government using its influence, while being a regulator of Twitter, and getting some political help for simply asking through special channels.

And don't forget that while doing this, Twitter had at least 14 former FBI agents at high levels in the company.

It really looks terrible. Yet some of the replies to Matt Taibbi's newest thread include "we don't care." You'd think that everyone would care about this. Maybe to get the Dems ticked off about 1A, details about how Trump did similar would have to come out, but we've not seen that.

Wtf does a REQUEST for co-operation with a PRIVATE COMPANY have to do with freedom of speech?

Nothing. They got kicked off from a private company's forum for policy violations.

The FBI's list of twitter accounts had nothing to do with "policy violations." Twitter banned certain accounts at the request of the FBI. Many were banned for simply making jokes about the election, and it's not the FBI's job to set policy violations on Twitter.

Are you so fucking stupid that you can't understand the significance of this? Suppose someone at the FBI read one of your posts on here, requested that USMB ban you forever, and USMB complied. If you told me that wouldn't be a direct violation of your First Amendment rights, you're a fucking liar.

wow

The FBI wanted "location information" on individuals who disagreed that the 2020 election was not rigged, or for expressing their personal opinions.

That's fucked up.
Billy Baldwin is a national security risk! He is on that list! :auiqs.jpg:

Arrest him for the movie “Fair Game”, but not his tweets. ;)

The FBI tells you to ban someone?

Of course you are going to.
?? Nope.

FBI can only ASK, and all it's asking is that Twitter enforce IT'S OWN posting policies.

Twitter is under no legal obligation to cooperate with FBI unless it has to do with illigal activities under investigation.

What you are stupidly failing to see, is that it wasn't a matter of "policies." Many of those whose who were banned did not violate Twitters policies, and there were thousands of them. Like Twitter user @Trump2017847791, who was banned after he joked "Remember that Democrats vote on tuesday and Republicans vote on wednesday." Or like the Right Side Broadcasting Network, whom the FBI requested that Twitter should ban, for merely covering Donald Trump's rallies.

This was the same FBI who failed to follow up on numerous school shooters despite the red flags known to them, because they were too busy protecting offended users against “misinformation.” The is the same FBI who can't even figure out the motive behind the Las Vegas Shooter. The same FBI who doesn't have a fucking clue how to stop the flow of fentanyl into this country.

Failing to see? It's in BLACK AND WHITE. You read English right?

Emails clearly show FBI asking twitter to enforce it's own policies, and to retain records, not anything beyond that.
