2.4 Million Fewer Americans Working Now Than When Obama Signed Economic Stimulus | CNSNews.com

CNSnews.com is part of The Media Research Center (MRC) media organization based in Alexandria, Virginia whose founder and CEO is conservative activist L. Brent Bozell III.

Given that Media Research Center's "mission statement" of your organization is to " "prove — through sound scientific research — that liberal bias in the media does exist and undermines traditional American values" and to "neutralize [that bias's] impact on the American political scene," the premise for this thread is based on nothing more than conservative propoganda.

Media? Biased?
The Saddest thing as well as the very thing this country needs more than ever is a news media that is truly fair and balanced
The poll ABC/Post did for the presidency is as far as one needs to go to see how far the media has gone to the left

Rasmussen has it a toss up with 17% un decided
The ABC/post poll has Obama up 51-44 as I recall and only 5% un decided with his approval rating in the low 40s

Today ABC and Bing has had reference to the OBL killing, again

USA network used to kill a mokinbird as a re-election commercial of BHO

UE figures are a lie. I will gice CNBC kudos for pointing out "the leaving the work force number" is the only reason that number is going down

Zimmerman has been attacked as though he is OBL, (I will say the stupid SOB deserves some of it)
Using Martins 13 year old pictures is just frosting on the cake

Last but not least, there using credit card fees as part of the reason gas is so hi, I never dreamed that would be the case

Oh yea lets not forget the record profits for exxon, same 8%. Higher revenue has everything to do with record profits, no mention of that nor the 46 cents of tax on every gallon, twice the profit margin of exxon

Nope, no bias here
Thats just a few examples and its just info, its not partisan BS
CNSnews.com is part of The Media Research Center (MRC) media organization based in Alexandria, Virginia whose founder and president is conservative activist L. Brent Bozell III.

L. Brent Bozell III's affiliations include:
-founded the Conservative Communications Center. The MRC also established CNSNews.com, the site of the Conservative News Service later becoming known as Cybercast News Service
- the CyberAlert daily newsletter documenting perceived media bias, and research reports on the news media
- founded the Culture and Media Institute, an MRC branch whose mission is to reduce what he claims to be a negative liberal influence on American morality, culture, and religious liberty
- former head of National Conservative Political Action Committee,
- ran the National Conservative Foundation
- served on the board of directors in the American Conservative Union
- serves on the board for the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights
- Keith Olbermann named Bozell the "Worst Person in the World" several times in 2006 and 2007

L. Brent Bozell III, The Media Research Center (MRC) and CNSnews.com (JFK's source) have about as much credibility as the "birthers" and those who claim president Obama is a Muslim!

That has nothing to do with the truth
We need an un biased media
They elected BHO the first time after 8 years of Bush bashing
in 2007 this country was with-in 163 billion of a balanced budget
today its closer to 1.6 trillion
Seen any articles on that?
U.S. 2007 Budget Deficit Falls to $163 Billion (Update3) - Bloomberg

This is a serious issue that these guys have hit the nail on the head

UE figures are a lie. I will gice CNBC kudos for pointing out "the leaving the work force number" is the only reason that number is going down

For the last year, seasonally adjusted numbers:
March 2011, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate went DOWN.
April 2011, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate went UP
May 2011, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate stayed the same.
June 2011, the Labor Force went DOWN, and the UE rate went UP.
July 2011, the Labor Force went DOWN, and the UE rate stayed the same.
August 2011, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate stayed the same.
September2011, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate went DOWN
October 2011, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate went DOWN
November 2011, the Labor Force went DOWN, and the UE rate went DOWN
December 2011, the Labor Force went DOWN, and the UE rate went DOWN
January 2012, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate went DOWN
February 2012, the Labor Force went UP, and the UE rate stayed the same.
March 2012, the Labor Force went DOWN, and the UE rate went DOWN

So, no, a declining labor force is not the "only reason" the UE rate has gone down.
Table A-1. Employment status of the civilian population by sex and age choose labor force seasonally adjusted and Unemployment rate, seasonally adjusted.

When Obama took office, the country was losing jobs at the rate of 750,000 a month.

Bush's final budget was in effect until October of that year when unemployment ballooned to 10.1%.

From 2001 to 2008, the country lost millions of jobs.

Thanks for giving me a chance to point that out.
You can say what you want .> There is still less people in the work force while Obama is office. GAS prices are higher, more people are on food stamps. THOSe ARE FACTS. you can jump around all the numbers you want but facts are facts. People are not doing any better then they were when Obama became president..> We are a few of the lucky ones. Our finances have stayed the same if not higher BUT when you put in that more money we put out in gas, grocery , clothes and every day items we are we are not better off

Why "leave" in quotations? Do you consider someone not trying to get a job as part of the labor market?

Why is that number soaring?

Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month, Labor Force Participation Rate Tumbles To Fresh 30 Year Low | ZeroHedge
A month ago, we joked when we said that for Obama to get the unemployment rate to negative by election time, all he has to do is to crush the labor force participation rate to about 55%. Looks like the good folks at the BLS heard us: it appears that the people not in the labor force exploded by an unprecedented record 1.2 million. No, that's not a typo: 1.2 million people dropped out of the labor force in one month! So as the labor force increased from 153.9 million to 154.4 million, the non institutional population increased by 242.3 million meaning, those not in the labor force surged from 86.7 million to 87.9 million. Which means that the civilian labor force tumbled to a fresh 30 year low of 63.7% as the BLS is seriously planning on eliminating nearly half of the available labor pool from the unemployment calculation. As for the quality of jobs, as withholding taxes roll over Year over year, it can only mean that the US is replacing high paying FIRE jobs with low paying construction and manufacturing. So much for the improvement.

At the same pace when GWB was president UE would be still over 9%

That article is from January, and it is incorrect. It is not true tha 1.2 million were left the labor force from Dec to Jan. Census redid the population controls and the number of people not in the labor force was increased by 1.2 mIllion. The labor force also increased by half a million.

Look again at my numbers, the auE rate has been going down, sometimes due to lower labor force, sometimes due to greater employment, sometimes both.

The U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 8.2% in March and a broader measure dropped to 14.5% from 14.9% the prior month, but a separate survey noted that the economy added a paltry 120,000. Why the drop?

This month, the decline in the jobless rate wasn’t a positive sign, as it primarily came from people dropping out of the labor force. The unemployment rate is calculated based on people who are without jobs, who are available to work and who have actively sought work in the prior four weeks. The “actively looking for work” definition is fairly broad, including people who contacted an employer, employment agency, job center or friends; sent out resumes or filled out applications; or answered or placed ads, among other things. The rate is calculated by dividing that number by the total number of people in the labor force. When the unemployed no longer count as part of the labor force, both numbers decline and the unemployment rate falls.

In March, the number of unemployed dropped by 133,000, but so did the number of people employed — by 31,000. That indicates that those people didn’t necessarily find new jobs, since the overall labor force declined by 164,000.

Given "JFK's" so-called news source has less credibility that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and its founder/president, Brent Bozell, is forced to apologize to Vince McMahon, how low can you go!

I was wondering when JFK would revert to personal attacks as a diversion for his apparent inability to defend the credibility of his source for this thread.

Why JFK would select an ultraconservative source as obviously biased as The Media Center (MRC) for the basis for his accusation, and then cry foul when its challenged, is beyond me!

"cnsnews.com," a branch of MRC, is the source that JFK provides in post 1 to support his contention that "No Jobs created since Obama took office, LINK"

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/24-...rking-now-when-obama-signed-economic-stimulus

JFK has every right to criticize President Obama BUT in doing so, he can hardly expect to be immune from having his comments and their source challenged - particularily when its done within the context of a forum.

Well, remember we're talking two seperate surveys. Non farm payroll jobs went up 120,000, so that is (weak) job growth.

But yes, the Unemployment and Total Employment numbers were bad...for March. Overall, in the last year, there has been improvement and NOT just from people dropping out of the Labor Force. And don't listen to idiots like Durden at zerohedge. He misrepresented what happened in January...1.7 million were added to the population due to a statistical adjustment. Most were added to "Not in the Labor Force" but that does NOT represent people "dropping out" from Dec to Jan. The Labor Force increased in Jan due to 847,000 people being added to Employed and 339 subtracted from Unemployed.

March was bad, but the overall trend has been weakly positive.

The overall UE is directly effected by the work foce numbers
To claim any-thing any different is not being fully honest
If that number changes to help the UE rate no matter what the reason, it is what it is

I dont pretend to claim that BHO has done this on purpose, what is confusing is why is this number being raised at a record pace when it should be the other way around
Durden mat be spinning it, but it still does not change the fact it effects the bottom line
