North Carolina devastated by Helene

I was surprised that NC was getting the coverage it is on CNN and MS-LSD today.....Must be because so many dems had moved into Ashville.

DeSantis is even sending help out of FL despite their own troubles.

From what I understand the confirmed death toll is at a 55 year high from one hurricane......Cammile in '69 was a bit worse in that regard but there's still 600 people unaccounted for with Heline.

Uplands where this level of rain aren't usual, especially areas of recent development and growth, are very susceptible to large rainstorms like this. You might not even know your backyard is a natural flood bypass or extension plain for the nearby river, creek or brook.
