Kasich's goals is not to go in with the most delegates. It's to go in with more than Cruz if possible, or at least be close enough with Cruz to have negotiating leverage. If he's much farther ahead than the rest, yes he will. The Republican party is not about to implode simply because they don't like Trump. Even the establishment realizes they created Trump by ignoring their constituents since the early Bush years right up until today.
