I think that's a ridiculous waste of money. If too many people grow the same crop, The market will take care of itself.

I have no problem with government guaranteeing loans to strategic, critical companies but they shouldn't be picking winners and losers like Obama did with Solyndra. Remember them. Cost the taxpayers greatly

You can't have one without the other. One person's idea of "strategic and critical" will inevitably line up with another's "losers". The only way contain this kind of a creeping socialism is to ban it in all cases. Or, at the very least, call out the exceptions, constitutionally, emphasizing that they are the only exceptions. Gifting special interests should never be a power of Congress.
