WHITES did not invent 'Slavery' in Africa. 'Some people' need to take an 'African History' class in your local college. (Yes, that is an actual course. Being a history minor in college I took the class. Our instructor was from Sierra Leone.)

Different tribes / villages in Africa raided others, taking captives to be their own slaves or to sell them off as slaves from traders from the middle east...and then from Europe. (Europe's slave trade dwarfed that of the United States. // For those who watched the movie / series 'Roots'...at the beginning, did you ever notice how there were blacks helping the white slavers capture other Africans?!)

'Slavery' is part of our nation's past. It is one of the events / struggles that helped shape who we are / who we became and stands as a reminder so that we never make those same mistakes / allow history to repeat itself.

'Slavery' is only one such event in our nation's past:

-- The near-annihilation of the Native Americans, rounding them up and forcing them to live on some of the worst pieces of land and in some pretty bad conditions (at times) - moving them out of the way so we could fulfill what is called 'Manifest Destiny' (which I believe actually means something like 'To The Victor Go The Spoils' or 'Take Everything You Physically Can' ).

-- 'Japanese Internment Camps', where we rounded up anyone who was or looked Japanese and threw them in makeshift prisons after Pearl Harbor. Guilt by national origin ' 'All Japanese / Japanese Americans are our enemies.'

Blacks don't solely 'own the rights' to claiming to be victims of America's egregious past events / acts.
