WASHINGTON — Since 2010, the National Security Agency has been exploiting its huge collections of data to create sophisticated graphs of some Americans’ social connections that can identify their associates, their locations at certain times, their traveling companions and other personal information, according to newly disclosed documents and interviews with officials.

This should have been the first paragraph of the article:

The legal underpinning of the policy change, she said, was a 1979 Supreme Court ruling that Americans could have no expectation of privacy about what numbers they had called. Based on that ruling, the Justice Department and the Pentagon decided that it was permissible to create contact chains using Americans’ “metadata,” which includes the timing, location and other details of calls and e-mails, but not their content. The agency is not required to seek warrants for the analyses from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

Moreover, this information is not being used in any manner to conduct criminal prosecutions of US citizens, nor can it be used for that purpose.

Sadly, few Americans care. They're just too busy being distracted by reports of Obama partying with Jay Z and Beyonce, Reality TV, Porn, Sports, and a possible 'Government Shutdown' that won't really be a shutdown. The NWO Globalist Elites have the Sheep exactly where they want em.

Yes, we'll the Supreme Court has fucked us before.

Yes indeed. It's the elephant in the room that is apparently invisible to most eyes.

The NYT and many other publications, groups and individuals, legislators and the heads of state of foreign countries disagree with you. I only hope there will eventually be enough blow back to effect a real change in this.

My signature line.
“There are some trade offs involved, The modest encroachments on privacy…it was worth us doing.” ~ Barack Obama
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." ~ Benjamin Franklin

Hey, did you know Obama is friends with Jay Z and Beyonce? I bet more Americans know about that than they do about this. Oh well, the Dumbing-Down of America rolls on.

No wonder the Boston Marathon Bombing Duo were able to avoid detection. The NSA was busy worrying about what law-abiding Americans were doing.

Yep, that's the point.

Should have never let drug testing allowed then, or Reagan's War on Drugs. This was the beginning of powers that would eventually allow more interruptions into our private lives.

Bottom line is, most Americans care more about who the Prez parties with, their Porn, Sports, Reality TV, and of course their Entitlement Mooching. Such is life in today's Dumbed-Down America.

You two seem to know for no good reason.

So what are you saying dude, you a supporter of the NSA domestic spying program?

Not at all, but this is the end result of Reagan's beginning of our infringing right to privacy by invoking laws to support his war on drugs.
He even allowed circumvention of due process of property of alleged drug dealers.

I don't imbibe. My GERD will not allow me to. Anymore BS moves to shuck and jive your agenda?

Hey like i said, i'm sure it's 5:00 somewhere. I'm not judging. You're just not making any sense. Seems like you had a little too much of something today. Your rants are coming off as incoherent gibberish. I'm sure you can't notice it though. Just thought i'd let you know. Take care.

You should look in the mirror and you will find that drunk that is incoherent. Your the one that seems to know what the pres does at every moment of every day.
