For most children they fixate on an object in this case something sparkly. Not necessarily feminine. Sparkles caught his eye. In six months it might be something else.

The most abuse happens when the child feels a change of mind. The parents are so heavily invested in having a transsexual child, they do everything they can to force the child to deny their new reality. Including hormones. It's just child abuse. No wonder so many commit suicide.
