KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, unleashing airstrikes on cities and military bases and sending in troops and tanks from three sides in an attack that could rewrite the global post-Cold War security order. Ukraine’s government pleaded for help as civilians piled into trains and cars to flee.

Scores of Ukrainians, civilians and service members alike, were killed in the first full day of fighting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ignored global condemnation and cascading new sanctions as he unleashed the largest ground war in Europe since World War II and chillingly referred to his country’s nuclear arsenal. He threatened any country trying to interfere with “consequences you have never seen,” as a once-hoped for diplomatic resolution now appeared impossible.

There were 4 things the Ukraine did that were each an act of war.
One was attempting to prevent Russian use of Sevastopol.
Two was attempting to join an alliance hostile to Russia.
Three was the Azov Battalion murdering 30k ethnic Russian natives of the Ukraine.
Four was cutting off all negotiations with Moscow.

You need to read up on the history of the Ukraine.
It is not a separate country really.
Kyiv used to be the capital of Russia, and it moved to Moscow only to escape the Mongol invasion of 1200.
The only people in the Ukraine who are not ethnic Russian are the descendants of the failed Polish invasion of 1700.
That is who the Azov Battalion is comprised from.
They are very racist and fascist.

And regardless of history, the facts are the Ukraine used to have Russian nukes, so had to be inside the Russian defense grid.
That means if NATO were allowed to install nukes there, Russia could not detect their launch.
Which means the Ukraine can never be allowed to join NATO.
If it ever looked like the Ukraine was joining NATO, then both Kyiv and the US would have to be nuked pre-emptively.
This is NOT Russia's fault in any way.
