In the late 20s, the Thompson chopper was outlawed. The Feds forced that class of weapon to stop being manufactured for the civilian market. Only the Military could get them. Now, it didn't affect the Federal Licensed Fire arms collectors at all. It took it about a decade to get those nasty things out of civilian hands. The Feds collected them as they ran across them being used by criminals. In the end, they are gone. Don't tell me that there is no way to get something off the street.

Felons do not have to register illegal guns...Haynes v. United States....so if criminals can't be required to register guns on the principal that they would be violating their 5th Amendment right against self incrimination.....then the same would also apply for law,abiding citizens.......


Otherwise...only criminals would be legally exempt from registering guns......
