From the USA PATRIOT Act’s over-broad definition of domestic terrorism, to the FBI’s new powers of search and surveillance, to the indefinite detention of both citizens and non-citizens without formal charges, the principles of free speech, due process, and equal protection under the law have been seriously undermined.

It is also why Government power is limited, and in theory, by the consent of the governed. You lose consent, you open the door to Tyranny. Of course you could always try to force feed the masses what and how you want them to think through mass media. ;) Justice, true justice, must serve the Individual as it serves the whole body.
