Obama first raised the idea in*Februarys State of the Union address, but Friday he put a price tag and more concrete details behind the proposal. The fund would support research into what the White House calls cost-effective technologies,
Gee, where have we heard this before?
Congress better block this shit. The man simply can't be trusted with a "fund" that he has discretion over.
Speaking of State of the Union speeches...
from 2012:
"We have subsidized oil companies for a century. That's long enough. It's time to end the taxpayer giveaways to an industry that's rarely been more profitable..."

Both oil and natural gas "subsidies" are identical and practically indestinguishable.
Who in the fuck does he think he's kidding?
I'm good with the research, and also good with eliminating subsidies; but why don't we eliminate every stinkin' subsidy on the books and force companies to make it on their own. Adn BTW, how about we take 2 billion out of the "investments" we're making on the Solyndras of the world. When did the US Gov't get into the role of bankrolling private companies?
That must be frustrating...
Maybe you should try running a competent opponent....

Good question.

"Subsidies"?
