Obamacare? BZZZT! Wrong answer.

According to a United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection poll released Monday, an overwhelming majority of Americans want Congress and President Barack Obama to focus on job creation more than any other issue — including health care.

The poll finds that by more than a 3-1 margin, voters would be “very pleased” or “somewhat pleased,” if the president and Congress worked together to create more jobs, as opposed to “very disappointed” or “somewhat disappointed.” Surprisingly, voters expressed very little partisan variation on how they hope the president and lawmakers create more jobs; 75 percent say they would be “pleased” or “very pleased” if jobs were created by reducing taxes and regulation – generally a Republican position – and 77 percent said the same about increasing investment in infrastructure projects, which Democrats tend to favor.

The findings should serve as a wakeup call for congressional Republicans, who have dedicated a great amount of their time to attacking the Affordable Care Act and its troubled rollout, and now say there is little left for them to do anything else.

According to The New York Times, U.S. Representative Reid Ribble (R-WI) even claimed that his constituents would not “want me to be overaggressive in writing new laws.” The new poll suggests that his constituents would disagree.

Besides job creation, other issues important to voters include gun and immigration reforms. According to the poll, 74 percent would be happy if lawmakers approved a proposal to expand background checks for gun purchases; only 22 percent said they would be unhappy if the legislation passed. Support for the issue split among partisan lines with nearly 75 percent of Democrats saying they would be “very pleased” if the measure passed, while only 38 percent of Republicans said the same. Still, a majority of GOP voters, 66 percent, did say they would be “somewhat pleased” by the legislation.

Looks like the echo chamber didn't get the memo. In 2010, the TPM won on "Jobs, jobs, jobs" - so again we ask, where are they? Yes, I get that they don't want to do anything that would look good for Obama. But they have constituents who do not care. It's time to work for the people who elected them, and that means strengthening the economy by putting Americans back to work.

The National Memo » Poll: Americans More Concerned With Job Creation Than Obamacare Woes

"According to The New York Times, U.S. Representative Reid Ribble (R-WI) even claimed that his constituents would not 'want me to be overaggressive in writing new laws.' The new poll suggests that his constituents would disagree."

The poll does not suggest that his constituents would disagree.

What about the poll suggests that his constituents would want him to be overaggressive -- or even moderately aggressive -- in writing new laws?

I'm not one of his constituents but I'm from a neighboring district and I am fairly confident that he is not misstating the will of his constituents.

What does that poll say about Wisconsin?

I'm sorry. You apparently didn't read the article. The bulk of Americans Don't Care.

Jobs are more important. And they're right.

That makes you wrong.

We already knew this, so why did Obama push through the ACA?

Because any communist knows the first step in taking over a society is take over health care.
Wait a minute there Slick, what happened to taking away your guns?????

It's not that they haven't tried idiot. It's that they haven't succeeded:lol:

Oh that's a wide open question that should only be moved to the flame zone immediately.

Obamacare has been a drag on jobs since 2009 and there's no end in sight.

Republicans pass bills and Reid won't put them up for a vote.

The National Memo » Poll: Americans More Concerned With Job Creation Than Obamacare Woes

Despite this Obama just announced that he will support Obamacare with all the resources at his disposal, and pivot back to jobs for the 30th time next year.

Like a laser

Npw lets get dwn to the reality of job creation.

Man I'm so sick but I'm going to pull this off if it kills me tonight. Keystone. The Keystone pipeline.

It's such a win win. Obama denies.

Keystone won't create that many jobs but it's symptomatic of the problem.

That's not quite right. Americans care very much when their President lies to them.

As for jobs. You realize that the House GOP has passed jobs legislation that sits and languishes in the Senate, right?

On top of that, there are not rude noises coming from the Senate about delaying the individual mandate. If the Dems in the Senate partially reduced the level of government for nearly three weeks because they did not want to adjust the unAffordable Healthcare Act, why is it they are now starting to think exactly that and NO ONE is talking about the President illicitly rewriting the law to do exactly what the House GOP wanted to do.

You can't make this stuff up.

Why does Obama, in true dictator fashion, keep hitting the campaign trail? Out there today talking about economic equality again. What a moronic socialist.

Did anyone hear the professors that testified today? Talked about National rebellion?

We need to take the country back and just may have to resort to less than desirable ways to do it

-Geaux

Like a sit in at a university?

Well the dregs of academia say Keystone won't create that many jobs.

First and foremost the OTHER KEYSTONE PIPELINES HAVE. yeah I meant it to be big.

No one is talking about when a boom happens in a region. If workers come in to work say for example on the Keystone....

Motel rooms are rented. Person who owns the motel has to hire more staff. Coffee sales go up in the town because the workers need coffee and hells bells the pizza dude gets tips out of the whazoo because the guys on the line want pizza when they are done their shift.

I could go on and on. To me this is 101. Obviously others don't understand this.

In small towns a boom like this can make or break them. You get Keystone with high paid welders coming in, literally you're setting off a financial YAY!!!!!! FIRESTORM!!!!! because they get the high paying money and the guys lay it out on the day to day.

Hasn't Obama talked about jobs since he came into the White House? Didn't he spend almost a trillion dollars of our money on a failed stimulus? What happened?

Poop and Sarah G. are pretty stimulated. The rest of us are still waiting.

Instead of making sure the stimulus was working and going toward the infrastructure he pays so much lip service to, he threw a bucket of cold water on the economy with O-care.

The initial ACA enrollees are primarily Medicare recipients.

There are literally tens of millions of Americans yet to receive their wake-up call. Double and triple health care premiums with skyrocketing deductibles.

Sorry, ma'am. Ignoring it won't make it go away.

And the point of the statement "the initial ACA enrollees are primarily Medicare recipients" is totally WRONG!
It is Medicaid enrollees... Medicare patients aren't involved in ACA.

But the point is while MOST of the ACA enrollees are "Medicaid"... WHY did it take ACA BILL to let the approximately 14 million people that
were used in the count of "UNINSURED" KNOW they were eligible for Medicaid???

Idiots who used the number 46 million "uninsured" to pass the ACA completely ignored the FACT that
14 million counted as "UNINSURED" all were in the poverty level for qualifying for MEDICAID! So how come the inefficient CMS that handles Medicare and Medicaid DIDN"T reach out for them ? These 14 million should NEVER be counted as UNINSURED..JUST UNINFORMED they qualified!

And the idiots that counted these as part of the 46 million ALSO counted 10 million that were NOT CITIZENS!
Finally the gall to count 18 million people under 34 that didn't need insurance but could afford (make over $50k) and didn't want their employers' plans,
they were falsely counted as part of the 46 million!
THE facts are subtracting those 42 million leave less the 4 million that truly needed coverage!

WITHOUT the 2,000+ bill and now 30,000 pages of rules and regulations and 5 million plus cancelled policy the simple solution was
A) With out spending a dime... Get 14 million AWARE they could get Medicaid coverage by when the go to hospital.. REGISTER THEM!
B) With out spending a dime.. TAX lawyers 10% of their $270 billion and with the $27 billion pay $5,000 premium for each of the 4 million uninsured!
C) With out spending a dime.. audit hospitals to make sure they don't pad and pass uninsured costs on to the payers sometimes marking up 6,000%!

These 3 solutions would not cost a dime!

Sure.

But, this is the way stimulus works for any infrastructure project.

It could have been bridges, schools, or something else that we actually need.

The keystone pipeline is oriented to raising the price of oil in the midwest and Canada - something we really don't have to do.
