Record high DOW, low gas prices, the longest war in our nation's history officially ending, great economic news, low unemployment rate that's continuing to fall, total employment at an all time high, all the 'IRS Scandal' and 'Benghazi Scandal' schtick fizzling anticlimactically, Obamacare websites running smoothly, the budget passed without all the drama....it makes sense that his approval rating is rising. It also doesn't hurt that our low gas prices are bugging the Russia at the same time, as it magnifies the effect of sanctions against Russia for Crimea. Which makes Obama look good.

While there are many folks that will approve of a president based on his policies or his person, many side with whomever looks like they're winning.

And Obama is doing pretty well this year.

Oh, the democratic party's approval ratings are in the toilet. For the 'side with who looks like they're winning' mentality that I mentioned earlier. Look at the Republicans after their spectacular and humiliating 'government shut down' defeat in 2013. They had the lowest numbers ever recorded for a major party in Gallup history.

But Obama is actually doing quite well. And his numbers have been rising in numerous polls of late.

While Repubs have obstructed and gerrymandered, President Obama has just kept on doing his job and we're all reaping the benefits of that.

Yep, he's earned every single point.

Its not that uncommon. Remember in 2004 when the democrats were complaining about 'over representation of republicans' in polls that showed Bush leading. With republicans making the same complaint of polls in 2012 that showed Obama leaning. Both parties try and spin polling results to make it look like momentum is actually with them. As theres a notable portion of the electorate that votes with 'whatever direction the wind is blowing'.

But we're not parties. And an individual that similarly reimagines polls to fit their preference is a fucking idiot. As the major polling agencies generally know their stuff. And lying to yourself about it doesn't change anything. I anticipated the democrats losing as they went into November because the polls clearly predicted such a result. And pretending otherwise doesn't change much. As lying to yourself serves no purpose.

While spinning a poll result nationally by major parties may effect an election by influencing the 'blow' voters. Its not likely. But it can happen. Rendering such an act one of desperation, but not stupidity.

If it were the only poll that indicated that Obama's polling numbers were rising, or came from an obscure or politically aligned agency, it probably wouldn't amount to much. But this is Gallup. And its not the only poll indicating a rise in Obama's approval rating.

Johnson and Nixon had people in the streets screaming their hatred, being arrested, etc. to show their hatred. I was there and was no great fan of either but Obama makes them look like saints. Most of those folks yelling in the streets were communist stooges and too stoned to remember who or what they were supposed to be yelling about. What they were angry about was that they might get drafted and have to go to Canada. I'll stand by my earlier statement.
