Obama's Government Run Internet

I've been warning about this for several years now and liberals always find ways to pooh pooh it or divert to another subject. So, check this out:

January 13, 2015 President Obama will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Wednesday to tout the ability of local governments to provide high-speed Internet to their residents.


And he will urge the Federal Communications Commission to strike down state laws around the country that restrict the ability of cities to build their own broadband networks. The move is likely to draw fire from Republicans, who argue that states should be free to set their own policies—including restrictions on local governments

How much clearer can that be? And notice, he wants the FCC to strike down state laws!


I'll repeat that – he wants the FCC to strike down state laws!


What happened to states' rights? What is happening to freedom in this country?

So, now you're criticizing Obama for backing policies that provide higher speed internet service at a lower cost. You defend laws that make it illegal for cities to compete in a fair fight with cable monopolies. You're defending the use of government force to create monopolies. How extremely anti-capitalism of you.

If you're really that dead set on sending large amounts of money to the cable/phone near-monopolies for slow service, you will still be free to do so even after cities offer cheaper broadband. But please don't try to force everyone else to be ripped off as well, all because you've signed on to an ODS conspiracy theory.

How is allowing _more_ competition for internet providers a bad thing?

Only the most fanatical haters of capitalism could support these state laws that enforce monopolies.
